As an American, the number one reason I have been unable to get into 2 step/UK garage is because of those horrible emcees coming in over the track. I was listening to either the Artful Dodger or Timmi Magic disc in a listening station and was grooving to the music but then ... an annoying voice saying "rewind...selecta" just destroys my groove. I skip forward a few tracks to find a different voice saying essentially the same things. I had to let the disc remain on the shelf.
I know that they are a prominent part of the UK garage sound, given its origins, but it is a total turnoff to someone used to "real" rapping. Can someone recommend an emcee-less UK garage disc?
