CHOO CHOO ME HOME - A JAZZ MUSICAL

    The Carver Theater
    1631 Fourth Avenue North
in Downtown Birmingham's historic Fourth Avenue Business District
    Tickets: $20, ONE PERFORMANCE ONLY!

In the early 1900's with the railroad train being the prime mode of
transportation during the time, George Mortimer Pullman created the first
successful "sleeping car." He made his dream come true by hiring only Negro
men, African Americans, to serve as porters for his latest addition to
American luxury transportation - known as the "Pullman Car."

In an era teaming with prejudice and discontent, "CHOO CHOO ME HOME", is the
story of a young farmer who flees his southern home in Mississippi, after a
painful tragedy, to go up north to Chicago for a better life. In doing so,
he finds work, friendship, intrigue, love and lots of excitement!

Written, directed and produced by Alicia Johnson.
Starring: Deidre Ali, Titus Battle, Kim Belcher, Odie Berry, Woody Cook, Ced
Delaney, Dot Davis, Anthony Irons, Edna Turner, Ahmed Obafemi, Roderick
    Woods, Jr. & many others!

Don't miss this once in a lifetime chance to learn about a valuable, but
almost forgotten, piece of African-American history. And don't miss your
chance to win 2 round trip tickets to New Orleans on Amtrak, 2 Heritage
Festival passes or one of our other fabulous door prizes!

Tickets can be purchased by any cast member or at the door. Call (205)
    925-3262 for more information.
