Hemoroids? so it's the same word in english, thanks for the mailing list to teaching me such delicate things...

thanks to the moderate Steve Catanzaro, who won the "i-did-it,-tellin'-people-what-exactly-all-this-shit-is" award. the guy did a great job explaining differences between Amel and D'angelo last LPs.
It looks like the 90's gave us something that other times people didn't have with the music they listen, back in 80's, 70's, 60's, etc..., except maybe music business professionnals of these times.

maybe it's not that good, but let's face it, now it's true : we, worlwide listeners of whatever kind of music, aren't so objective about what music really is : feelings, sensations when you listen to it. At first, i think it's the point : having feelings and thoughts about music (and lyrics, that's it).

but the technologies, if they did a great job helping artists, did something else, too : we don't listen to the artists stuff only, we give massive attention to production. For example, i'm not that much into r'n'b, but my ears were like mad when listening to my little sister's "the boy is mine" from Brandy and Monica ; damn, anybody notice the production on this?

       i think nearly the same about Voodoo ; the guy, his music, his lyrics, are ok, but so are Amel's ones ; maybe more, i've got to say, if i continue Steve C's thoughts. by staying a little less behind, while our pretty face D'Angelo is everywhere, Amel please me ;
maybe Amel's album is a little too... linear. too bad. but promotion and coverage by major distributors could be another "Hemmoroid and other shit" topic...

    OZER SHIT...
in my bag (i'll try to play nether Amel, Angela, or D'Angelo tonight) for tonite radio show:
    - Cinematic Orchestra "motion",
    - Silent Majority (back in '94, with Erik Truffaz, dj Goo, Nya, Patrick Duvoisin aka Rollercone... the swiss connexion here!),
    - five star galaxy part.one (see above comments, + the mighty Alex Attias as bonus),
    - Del the funky funky funky homosapien "catch a bad one" ('93') + new shit from the man, with not less than 2 12's and a LP!
    - Global Communication "the groove", the mid tempo breakadown bonus version...
    - Seiji "the long way" on Reinforced (97),
    - Cappablack shit on the excellent japanese label Soupd-Dish,
    - Herbie Hancock "watermelon man", with this beer bottle sampled by...
-... dj Matsuoka's "excellent bird" on Compost,
    - miss and mister groovyness have a child, how they call him? "People make the world go round-moodymann remix", yes,
    - divine styler's "tongue of labyrinth", from the first LP, produced by... Ice T? gosh...
    (cbs '89),
    - Ian o'Brien "schrodinger's cat" on the Ferox 26,
    - some Jazz Fudge shit, of course,
    - the herbaliser + Latyrx's "8 points agenda", which is simply the greatest hiphop anthem of this 5 last years, let's say...
    - and some yussef lateef, cause i'm feeling sad when i see how many answers about some Yussef info were posted since this person ask for it?

       people, have a nice day.
    peace & respect
