    heya aj'ers,

Here's the scoop on a party that we're hosting at 'Soleil Fridays' next
Friday, May 12th. Kinder Atom are a significant Toronto-based electronic
act that cover musical ground runnin' from jazzy d&b to deep, sexy house,
techno, electro and beyond. Their music is solid, and they've been doing
their t'ing since long before the days when 'electronic music' was a term
that flew easily off the tongue. Kinder Atom will be performing a live PA,
as will 5 piece jazz-house act Directions (check the Rhodes & the
trumpet!). Hope to see some of you out. Please spread the word in any way
you can. Thanks 'n take care.

nice+smooth, Fusion III, 'Soleil' Fridays, 1groovE & CKLN present:
"MMM!" a KINDER ATOM CD & vinyl release party
with live performances by Kinder Atom & Directions
    DJ's Gerald Belanger * Greg Clow * Denise Benson * Sassa'le
Friday May 12 at Fez Batik (129 Peter St. @ Richmond)
    Cover $5 * Doors 9pm * ph. 416.204.9660 * e: tommygrl@interlog.com

Friday May 12, 'Soleil Fridays' at Fez Batik host the official launch party
for the Canadian release of Kinder Atom's 3rd full-length CD, MMM!, and the
companion 12" single "reMMMixes." DJ'ing will be Kinder Atom's Gerald
Belanger, CIUT's Greg Clow, and Soleil residents Denise Benson & Sassa'le.
The show will be Kinder Atom's first live appearance in nearly two years.
Also featured will be a special live performance by local jazz-house trio
Directions, who contributed two of the "reMMMixes."

While Kinder Atom have been taking time off from performing, they've been
consolidating the past three years of recordings at their NICE+SMOOTH
studio into a slew of releases. Last year saw the long-awaited
collaboration between the band and reggae superstar Michael Rose,
"Illegal," released both on the Metro Breaks 99 compilation, and as a
remix on Cologne's Basswerk label which went to #4 in Germany's club charts
    .

MMM! features a number of different electronic music styles, all with the
familiar organic feel the group is known for. From the jazzy tech-house of
"Slinky" to the deep drum n' bass of the title track, the songs represent
the finest work the group has done to date. The album will be distributed
in Canada by Fusion III of Montreal, and is set for international release
through Hollywood mega-label Hypnotic Records later this year.

The "reMMMixes" vinyl features 3 exclusive tracks: two Directions remixes
of "Ladies," one a snappy, soft Rhodes house mix and the other a banging
techno dub version. The third remix on the single is a big-beat scorcher
from Holland's top breakbeat duo The Longplayers. Kinder Atom also has a cd
coming out on Vienna label Klanggalerie this summer, featuring a
collaboration with England's seminal Rapoon. Following this release, Kinder
Atom's DJ Gerald Belanger will be out representing for the group throughout
Europe, promoting the new releases and performing a six week summer club
and festival tour, including another stop at Zurich's infamous
STREETPARADE. The group is currently planning a collection of remixes and
collaborations for 2001 entitled KINDER ATOM vs. THE WORLD. Catch'em while
    you can.
