Just got back from travelling... 2 weeks and 65 hours of driving later I
    feel pretty relaxed.

Caught dj food, kid koala, and amon tobin in portland on friday
(unexpectedly - didn't think I'd be able to go) and kid koala absolutely
stole the show. He brought to the stage a guest, P-love, who scratched
like mad too, and a band, Bullfrog (bass, guitar, percussion, & drumset)
who had everyone screaming and rocking out. I got a lucky promo tape and
was laughing and grooving when he announced a song called 'snakeskin'
because I was wearing a silver snakeskin wristband, so he said 'just
follow my lady Sibyl here.' - My friends were too drunk and lazy to budge
from the roped-off bar area but reported that as soon as kid koala said
'just follow' they knew I was making trouble. His work with Bullfrog is
unsigned so you gotta check 'em out live. It's fantastic.

Also saw the Mel Brown Quintet - guess they play a lot in the northwest
US, so if you are there and want some incredible live jazz to warm your
    ears, keep an eye out.

    cheers,
    sibyl
