Just a quick note to let you know about two special little events happening
as part of Glide Wednesdays, the weekly affair that Andrew Allsgood and
myself host/DJ each week at Gypsy Co-op (817 Queen St. W.), tomorrow and
Wed. June 7 respectively.
WEDNESDAY MAY 31: TRIPLE TREAT: WAX, RAP 'n GRAF
A night of hip hop beats, rhymes and imagery
DENISE BENSON: chilled beats * smooth grooves * conscious thought
ANDREW ALLSGOOD: funky breaks * chunky beats * old school to new
special LIVE performance by hyper-distinct duo
***ABDOMINAL & FASE***
T.O. underground talents flow through the "Vinyl Frontier" and beyond in a
full-on live set of original material. They've sold out three pressings of
their first 12", with Japanese record shops and buyers paying particular
attention. 2,000 people plus can't be wrong. In short, they're conscious,
abstract, funny, 'n different as he**.

INSIGHT and CIRCUIT provide the visuals.
They're both graffiti artists creating in a fresh new context, and on all
kinds of surfaces, including.....vinyl, of course. Their pieces will be
hanging in the Gypsy lounge for a few weeks, as of tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY JUNE 7: DUB BE GOOD TO ME
roots * rockers * dub & deviations
This eve, we pay tribute to the heavy bass 'n drums... and take the sound
in all kinds of directions, from classic roots, rockers and dub to the
freshest and deepest of the new school. Dub's been very good to me, and is
deep in my heart (as well as in much of the music I play), so I'm excited
to bring four people together who all adore related, but distinctly
different sources of sound.
DENISE BENSON: roots vibe * classic dub * new interpretations
ANDREW ALLSGOOD: dub derived beats & breaks
plus guests
DJ CHOCOLATE: reggae * dub * ragga * jungle
VAUGHAN ROAD UPSETTER: roots & rockers from his IMMENSE collection
And, that's all she wrote....for now. Hope to see lots of you out. As
