    hey there everyone,

Well, there's a ton of stuff on the go hence much to tell you about.
Hugs to all of you who get in touch and drop me e-notes between these
mailouts; it's really nice to know that you read the words and care to
support events I'm involved with. Thanks!

Props to all who came down to Element last Friday for the Feelinit
weekly there. I guested upstairs alongside residents Dino & Terry, and
had a blast doing so. Many familiar faces and lots of dancing bodies.
    Nice.

Also, a number of you have written over the last while asking about the
writing I do for various publications 'round town. I've now added the
URLs for both Eye and Exclaim magazines at the bottom of these emails,
as part of my signature. Check both frequently as I write weekly columns
for Eye (Extended Play, Beats Per Week) as well as monthly features and
reviews for Exclaim (current issue including Richard Dorfmeister, Leila,
    LAL, more). Hope that helps.

And now, on to the club stuff:

Saturday Nov. 25 ï SOULAR system ï final session
    DJ's Denise Benson & Sassa'le ï Directions perform live
at B-Side, 129 Peter St. above Fez Batik (enter on Richmond) ï 10pm-3am
$8 at the door ï 204.9660 or mentalchatter@sympatico.ca for more info

I'm sure by now that many of you jazz and house lovers have been hearing
about DIRECTIONS, a local seven piece band who blow up the spot each
time they perform. They create sophisticated, deep house with a heavy
emphasis on jazz, beautiful, beautiful music that always gets audiences
happy 'n dancing. DIRECTIONS performed at two different gigs I helped
organize at Fez Batik this past year (once opening for Kinder Atom and
once as part of the Jazz Fest 'Decks 'n Divas' event), and completely
blew me away both times. No exaggeration. Both gigs I left the club
feeling completely high on their music and energy. I'm really excited
that they'll be joining Sassa'le & I upstairs in B-Side, where the room
is warm and intimate, and the sound stunning offa those hardwood floors.
It'd be nice to see a lot of you out, especially as this will be the
last in our SOULAR system series. Doors open at 10pm, we go to 3am with
Directions on at midnight. Expect nu jazz ï deep house ï uk garage ï
beats 'n breaks all night long. :-)

The first ten people to hit me back with an e-note requesting so, will
be added to the guest list for this show (you and a friend).
