('binary' encoding is not supported, stored as-is) >Wow...I'm surprised they even have new material. Every time I see them, they play the same songs they did back in '96...<

Yeah. Here is a list of new songs they have been adding into their shows in the last two years:

    Timido
    Lo Que Dice
    Embrace The Chaos
    Mi Alma
    Rachmananoff
    Querillero
    Que Bien Te Ves
    Dos Cosas Ciertas
    Mafufo
    Suenos
    Pensando
    1, 2, 3, 4

They've been playing "Timido" live since 1998, if not earlier. Not sure if this was recorded for the first album, but the band have been expanding on this over the years in concert. The song itself is about a guy who sees a woman and wants to dance with her, but he's too shy. Eventually the guys say "c'mon, you need to show face and dance with her, and if you don't, someone will take her away for you". In concert, this is one of the hottest and sexiest songs they do. The music inbetween is essentially the seduction between the man and the woman he wants to dance with, Maria.

"Embrace The Chaos" talks about the world around us, kind of like Kanetic Source's own "Coming War". He raps, then Raul and Asdru talk about looking at the world and embracing the chaos that surrounds us. This year, the band have taken to doing a jazzy interlude at the end of this, with the horn section doing some seriously trippy shit. They have also adapted this jazzy method to "Cumbia De Los Muertos", at least they did during the first few months of the year.

"Lo Que Dice" originally started off as just Kanetic and Justin Poree doing old school songs and freestyles, and now it is its own song. So for those who have wanted another hip hop voice from the group, here we go.

"Mi Alma" is a cute song by Raul about his daughter, Alma. This one has changed in style from when they first started playing it live. They used to introduce it as their "punk rock song", before they played it mariachi style. Now it's a little different.

"Mafufo" is some laid back Funkadelic/Fishbone style grooves. In concert, Raul goes off during his guitar solo.

"Suenos" sounds a bit like "O Le Le" and "Cumbia De Los Muertos", in terms of incorporating the DJ with the rest of the band.

"1, 2, 3, 4" has Jiro yelling out the title before they get into a ska/funk/hip hop thing. The horn riff within used to be based on Fishbone's "Ghetto Soundwave" two years ago, but each time I hear it, they keep on altering it to where it doesn't even sound like how it did two years ago.

If you haven't seen them live in awhile, you should check them out. If any of you are going to Coachella this weekend, they will be there. With Crunchy out of the band, they have a trombone player with them that is damn good, adding a slightly different sound. Anyway, if you're going and bump into them, tell them John Book says hello and "hurry up".
