('binary' encoding is not supported, stored as-is) I know she's not exactly "acid jazz" but since she is Monday Michiru's mom I wanted to bring her up.

After doing some research and finding a nice page on Toshiko Akiyoshi, I did the dirty deed earlier this week and went to Napster, just to see if there was anything. There were a few, and I decided to download a song called "Grooving In Yokohama" from an album called SKETCHES OF JAPAN.

Now I want more. For those of you who are on the more "traditional" jazz side of things, any Toshiko recommendations? She has so much music out I don't even know where to begin.

In closing, picked up the new Soulstice CD last night, haven't heard the whole thing but I like what I've heard so far.
