all this happy banter reminds me of a conversation in
a Pittsburgh kitchen a few years ago. We were trying
to explain to a German kid who was in town, what a
breakbeat was. The explanation devolved and we talked
about breaking beats and broken beats, (before it was
a genre/buzzword), breakbeat DJs, etc, and finally
decided that we would aspire to be "broke, beat DJs",
at which I have come to excel!
