    BACK IN ACTION!!
Sorry for such a long wait for the latest issue of the circular, but
big things have been afoot and Aaron has been busy busy busy. Loads
of excellent tracks have landed in the crates since last time. Plenty
    to see!

If this is your first time receiving this list, here's a short introduction:
I'm Aaron Shinn, I'm from Chicago, and I'm pushing a peculiar sound.
I'm always pressing on for quality music that defies categorization.
Most of the best these days is coming out of a fairly obscure scene
in the UK and I'm doing my best to raise some awareness here! Check
it out, give it some time - damn rewarding music for the spirit and
    your dancing feet.

If you're not really interested in getting one of these every other
week (or month, as the case has been), let me know and I'll get you
off the list. I'll be passing along music news, charts, playlists,
and whatever else needs to be said! On with the show:

check the sounds. There's quite a few decent sites, check them all!

PROMO CD COMPLETE! *BUT* SCRAPPED FOR REVISION!
Sad but true! The latest revision of the promo mix was far too
smooth!? Aaron has gone back to the drawing board for a tuffer mix.
    Watch this space.

    TOP TUNES AT THE MOMENT!

    Afronaught | Shapin' Fluid 3LP | Apollo
DAMN! Orin Walters' album finally hits the street and what a record
it is! Future funk without a doubt! So many dancefloor bombs on this
one it's difficult to keep track. The beats come no tuffer than this!
The man behind the huge "Transcend Me" begins his well-deserved time
in the spotlight now. I've heard the vinyl pressing is limited so run
    to the shop now!

New Sector Movements | Download This 2LP | Virgin
Another huge LP from one of the kingpins of West London finally
released! Such a depth of musicality and experience shows up in IG
Culture's masterpiece. IG pleasing his artistry here more than the
dancefloor. Absolutely extraordinary! Park yourself with your best
headphones and let the journey begin. Lots more in store from this
    man for sure.

Lucy Pearl | Without You (Jay Dee Remix) | Virgin
The most advanced soundman in hiphop tears this cut apart! Jay Dee's
overwhelming swing is sure to snap your head to this one. Tense,
harsh, epic, futuristic sound! Lucy Pearl coming from the minds of
Ali Shaheed Mohammed and Raphael Saadiq so you know it's got quality
    lineage.

Domu | Body Electric | Archive
The lead single to the new Domu LP coming soon from Archive! Domu
getting smoother and smoother with each release! Great vibes for
summer. Domu certainly refining his trademark chord progressions.
    Tight!

New Sector Movements | The Sun (New Sector Movements Remix) | Virgin
As far as I am concerned this remix is the *absolute pinnacle* of
IG's artistic depth. Hours upon hours of hard work in the sonics of
this one! This goes in the desert island crate. Absolute, 100%, top
ten of 2001 material. Exhausting and demanding to listen to - strap
in and take off! Released on the pre-LP single (black sleeve). Also
check the mixes from detroit prodigy Dwele! (in the white sleeve).

Osunlade | Paradigm LP | Soul Jazz
The man behind the Yoruba Peoples label releases an LP of the finest
spiritual house music. Funky sounds and smoooooth production! Don't
sleep on this one. A lot of range here, all top-quality!

Gaelle | Rain (Bugz In The Attic Mix) | Naked Music
Naked Music artist Gaelle gets the Bugz rework! Huge tune with the
garage funk going on. Don't quite know who from the bugz click worked
on this one but it's steaming up the windows here! Gaelle on the
sultry halftime vocals complete the picture.

3 Generations Walking | Slavery Days | Spiritual Life Music
Joe Claussell produces this epic piece of spiritual deep house.
Half-time snares and rich dub bassline let ya know it's a Burning
Spear cover! The reinterpretation is deep deep deep - heartrending
vocals. Just wait until the strings come in!

Beatless | The Truth (Mono Uptempo Mix) | Ubiquity
Alex Attias and Paul Martin burning up the dancefloor! Bluesy gospel
vocals worked in a tight minimal style you've never heard before -
layers of percussion working up to a frenzy at the end of the tune!
    Top choice.

Ayro | Let This | Omoa Music CD-R
Righteous new tune from a new stateside artist on a new label! Funky,
quick effortless transitions with a touch of Stevie in the vocals!
Watch out for Ayro - he's baaaad. Scott Zacharias and Matt Recloose
gather up all the best headz in Detroit to start a new label. Hit
    omoamusic.com for details!

Spacek | Curvatia LP | Island Blue
Surely the next sound in soul! Twisted, tight, synthetic production
with echoes of Jay Dee. Definitely in the direction of hip hop but in
a league all its own. Sexy sexy sexy! I've been saying it's the
    "bedrocker of the season".

Space 7 | Space Station (remix) | Clairaudience
Anthony Nicholson revamps his excellent Space Station into a wild
tech expedition - sure to get you out of your head, watch out for the
huge synth bass at work. Ugochi's vocals from the original get dubbed
    out to the extreme.

Hipnotic | Naima | Laws of Motion
After 4 Hero's cover of Naima last year, John Coltrane's classic tune
gets another rework! Beautiful beautiful full-bodied, well-realized
track! Ian O'Brian on the remix with his chunky, layered style.
Certain to be in rotation for quite a while. Makes ya weep, this one.

Fini Dolo | Heartbeat | People
Noel Watson doing it right with a four-part suite of fantastic tunes.
Broken mix is number one with two house mixes bringing up the rear -
sweet flute lines, funky spoken vocals from Sonja and smooth bassline
moves the floor! People as always one of the strongest labels out
    there. Damn right.

"Dude, I'm a baaaad DJ. I mean I'm good. Especially when I'm trippin
on Acid. I could put my butt cheeks on the Technics and take off. I'm
    silly like that."
    "Oh, word?"

    ABOUT THE MUSIC:

Dance Fusion Madness! Most music played in clubs these days is
straightjacketed into genres, keeping neatly to themselves and
stifling personal musical vision. If you choose to take a step back
from the massive dance world you see that there's no reason that a
little bit from here and there across the spectrum could make a
cracking good tune! So pioneers in West London and elsewhere decided
that they needed no genre identification to validate their music and
blazed the trail towards a new ideal:

That anything can be current, that the entire history of music is
fair game, that if you find the right ears anything is possible. So
suddenly you see jazz, hiphop, afrobeat, funk, Brazilian influences
flooding the dancefloor. It's unprecedented! The mindset is gaining
global momentum with massive scenes popping up in London, Berlin,
Tokyo, Vienna... Chicago too? Open your ears - it's not what you
    might expect.
