I'm proud to (re) introduce my "new" "band" Califonix (kal-uh-fon-iks),
which in its former incarnation (1997-98) was a 7-8 piece acid jazz/drum n
bass band. Now resurrected with two of its founding members plus some
friends, the band, which now consists of keyboards/drum machine, bass
guitar, sax/flute and live percussion (look ma, no drummer!), plays deep,
soulful, jazzy house a la Masters At Work, Mark De Clive-Lowe and The
Rurals, plus a live stab at West London-style Brokenbeat music a la Modaji
and Atjazz. Immediately following will be DJs T-Bird, Markman and Mark
Farmer servin' up strictly 2-step garridge. What better way to start the
summer with the 21st century groove thang...
