vibe_host: nikka's on the phone! we're kickin' off the chat!

hotstud302: I just wanted to say you have a wonderful voice, and I am
glad that you share it with all of us

    vibe_nikka_costa: cool, thank you

freshluggs: first off, happy belated birthday from one red-headed gemini
to another - a friend and i caught your show Chicago a couple months ago
(amazing) we were the kids in the front rockin' out... anyways, we stuck
around afterwards for a while talking with your band, mostly Printz and
Musiic and they were all great people and great musicians so the
questions is: was it tuff assembling the band for your live shows?

vibe_nikka_costa: it was a lot of hard work, word of mouth around la,
friends recomending people and a couple of auditions, it's harder
keeping a band together than assembling one

    hotstud302: Are you currently single?

BigDOttawa: it seems to me that you have been embraced by fans of hip
hop music. Does this constitute crossover status in your mind?

vibe_nikka_costa: no, i have a man, no kids though

vibe_nikka_costa: i guess, because i'm more of a rock singer than hip
hop artist, but i try not to seperate things, music is blending into one

the bwproject: What was the experience like filming the videos for "Push
& Pull" and "Like a Feather"?

vibe_nikka_costa: completely different, paul hunter, feather, ted, pull

vibe_nikka_costa: like a feather was 18 hours of dancing and mic tricks
with attitude, and push and pull was like 5 hours and was mellow

mrsmora2001: i heard she has been singing for a long time, how long and
why is it that i am now just gearing about her

vibe_nikka_costa: first record came out at 8 and i never released
    anything in america

juniorvala: Your voice is amazing live. How does it make you feel when
other artist sound great on their albums but then sound horrible live?

freshluggs: a big topic on the message board at your website is "Who
would we like to see Nikka collaborate with?", well who would you like
    to collaborate with?

vibe_nikka_costa: it's a discovering experience, it can be
disappointing, but u can still enjoy it depending on what you're
    expecting

vibe_nikka_costa: outkast, prince, stevie wonder, black crowes, cold
play, anyone i dig, fionna apple

hahanna01: what was the most embarassing thing that has ever happened to
    you?

vibe_nikka_costa: i was on stage and had my back to the audience and my
    pants split open

BigDOttawa: How did you like working with ?uestlove of The Roots?

vibe_nikka_costa: amir was awesome, he's incredibly talented and smart,
    he has good ideas

sirenofsong: Unfortunately, I missed your appearance on Craig Kilbourne.
Was it fun or nerve-racking (or both!)

vibe_nikka_costa: it was fun, chris rock was nerve racking because it
    was my first one

juniorvala: I've heard two different things. Some say you're married and
some say you're not. If it's not to personal, can you clear this up?

    vibe_nikka_costa: i have a soulmate, i'm married

gpgbond: how does it feel to have recorded a song for a major hollywood
    movie

vibe_nikka_costa: it's cool, the movie inspired the lyrics

andreacristino: i'm in the UK and am desperate to catch you with Beck
but it's a complete sell out - when are you comming over?

vibe_nikka_costa: tru birmingham academy on 27th

vibe_nikka_costa: we're also playing with beck at the olympia in paris
    on the first

illestchick2001: where did u get ur unique style from

vibe_nikka_costa: just from not thinking about it and being unique and
    true to myself

illestchick2001: how old were u when u got into the music business

hotstud302: Have you done any acting if not are you interested?

vibe_nikka_costa: my first single came out at 5 and my album came out at
    8

vibe_nikka_costa: not yet, i did drama in high school but i'm focus on
    songwriting and recording

sirenofsong: The mic stand is a large part of your performances. When
    did you learn those tricks?

vibe_nikka_costa: right b4 chris rock, we had a week to prepare, lou
barber, my choreographer made me look cool

glittergirl_20002001: i have heard that you are frank sinatras god
    daughter is that true?

    vibe_nikka_costa: it's a loose term, i knew him when i was little but i
lost touch of him when i was 10

absolut_vodka_19: nikka do you have a tounge ring

    vibe_nikka_costa: no, ouch

PoisonHand: how did you put your band together?

    vibe_nikka_costa: i have a tatoo, on my uncle, it's 2 japanesse
    characters and a butterfly

princess_16_1616: when was your first kiss and how was it????

vibe_nikka_costa: 7 in a treehouse after school, he was from hungaria,
the tallest guy in the class, it must not have been good, i never kissed
    him again

illestchick2001: so how was your song like a feather picked to be on the
    tommy commercial

vibe_nikka_costa: ny is small and dominia knew the tommy people and they
    used it

dalivoxhewson: Hey Nikka what do you think of the internet? Your fan
base seems to be spreading quite a bit from the online world as your
music is very wordly. Anything you think in particular about the
newfound power of the Internet for musicians?

vibe_nikka_costa: it can be good, new music can be found and keep up
    with artists without deals

andreacristino: did you record anything other than Butterfly Rocket in
    Australia?

vibe_nikka_costa: i did a version of hey joe for a compilation

blaze209420: what is your favotire place to visit nikka?

vibe_nikka_costa: balli, laying on the beach

mistress_of_midnight: On your future plans would you like to sing in
    another language or just english?

vibe_nikka_costa: i don't know, i would have to come from the right
place with it, it would have to feel right, i wouldn't do i for the
    money

kmh213us: Nikka, you have a beautiful smaile, what makes you laugh and
    are you ticklish?

vibe_nikka_costa: thank you, sarcasm, with marc ronson, goofy things and
    i am ticklish

enigiza: what musicians are you inspired by?

vibe_nikka_costa: stevie, chaka, prince, led zepplin, marvin gaye, donny
    hathaway, etta james, aretha

sirenofsong: How many instruments do you play?

vibe_nikka_costa: guitar and leyboard and 1 bit on drumds

freshluggs: is there any chance that Butterfly Rocket will be
re-released so we don't have to shell out $50+ for it on eBay? =)

vibe_nikka_costa: i don't know, the label mushroom has the power

vibe_nikka_costa: this was fun, thanks for logging on, i love you and
