These guys are really a trip! Their music incorporates so many different
"world music" influences that they sound almost...otherworldly! In fact,
much of the music on the Italian CNI label falls into this
"ethno-experimental" category. There's also a great Italian dub band named
Almamegretta, who have several albums out and who've worked with people like
Bill Laswell and Adrian Sherwood, to name a few. And there's an early Bill
Laswell/Eraldo Bernocchi project on CNI called ASHES...very cool. Most of
this stuff isn't very jazzy...but it is different and pretty obscure. If you
like stuff like Transglobal Underground and Talvin Singh, you should
definitely check this label out: www.cnimusic.it.
