For a start, Peshay is the man in the Global Drum and Bass scene! His real
name is Paul Pesce. He has put out quite a few 12 inch releases over the
years on various labels such as MoWax, Good Looking Records and Metalheadz.
His very first full length album "Miles from Home" was put out on Island
Blue.
His close collaboration with the Metalheadz crew has seen him doing quite a
few releases on that label. He was a regular in the Metalheadz DJ line up
from '96 - '99. One of my all time favourite jazzy d'n b tracks is
undoubtedly "On the Nile".
I have seen him DJ in London and New York and he really rocks the floor.
His musical style has varied from the light intelligent d'n b to hardstep to
jazz-step. No matter what style he lays down, you can be sure it's always
classy stuff. I think with the last album his influences have tended
towards the jazzier side of the spectrum, and I am eager to see where he is
going next.
He also heads up his own label, Pivotal Records.
Go out and get yourself some more of that Peshay liquid funk.
