    reminds me of a good friend of mine who is a writer and always is more or
    less depressed....but his depressions are his inspiration for the articles
    and stories he writes...he doesn't want to take medication because he's
    afraid that his inspiration will dissapear together with his depressions..

    What a waste of a gifted man. Drugs suck.

    I remember hearing an NPR story that ran after the last time he was in court
    and made that promise to return from his tour and check into rehab.

    The reporter said that when his band was asked why they didn't stage some
    kind of intervention, they said they were afraid that Gil's creativity might
    be impaired if he stopped doing drugs.

    Now, that sucks.
