just taking the time to pore through some of this week's AJ list content and
saw this one. thanks, Jason, for the props and plug. yeah, having archives of
the show (Mental Chatter) has been a great thing...really nice to receive
feedback from people across the globe, many of whom are on this list.

for others out there currently doing shows on community/campus stations and
the like, I'd totally recommend the archiving thing if you can find a good
site to host. once you get setup and get the hang of encoding (easy!) it's all
systems go and a really great way to reach out to further audiences.

have enjoyed the Swope Transmissions show on a number of occasions and would
    recommend it too!

as for www.beats.to there's a lot of archived musical content on there from a
number of Toronto based DJ's. most of the shows and hosts are fairly house
leaning, but generally on the deep 'n sweet level. shows I'd especially
recommend to this list include: Mental Chatter (of course!), Acufunkture,
Coffee Sessions, Shifting Gears (with Movement's Dee Jay Nav and guests like
Rainer Truby and many others). Excellent house shows include: Intrinsic
Elements, Audiomotion, Knockingsoul and David Cooper (Roundtable
Distribution) does the eclectic and excellent Clear Radio...from deep techno
and Detroit-leaning vibes to house, hip hop and loads more. I don't, btw,
work for the site... I just appreciate that they provide a home for my
archives and offer so much great talent and music.

a couple of other Toronto-based web sites with lots of great streaming content
    include:

www.garagehousemusic.com - well designed, quality content, hopping message
boards, and loads of mixes from local and international garage / house DJ's
like Dino & Terry, Frankie Feliciano, the Rurals, Mateo Matos, KOT's Sandy
Rivera and loads of others in the 'Guest DJ's' section.

www.techno.ca is also fantastic for music, events listings, mailing lists etc.
    one of the originators online.

whew...went off on a tangent there, but like to give props to quality local
projects and, like many of you I suspect, I listen to a ton of stuff online.
