    >> As I understand it, Zero 7 are well-hyped and noticed in Europe

They got their fair share of expectations given the marvelous
first EP which quicky became a sought after piece of vinyl.

It quickly sold out due to a limited amount of pressed items,
1000 that was, and was reportedly sold for around 150 $.

I dont think Air ever attracted that kind of recognition.

I have not experienced Air live, but judging from their
documentary "Eating, Sleeping, Waiting, and Playing"
from 1998, it is a bunch of pompous ideas woven in
and out of electronica in the form of pop, kitsch and disco.

    Utterly selffocused, semi-intellectual statements are
expressed through out the documentary, giving one the
impression that Air thinks they invented the spoon.

Zero 7 played this year at the Roskilde festival, and
was besides Gonzales, Peaches and Raz O Hara (on
the Kitty Yo label) the only really interesting act this
    year.

I think they were overwhelmed by the recognition
from the audience, and all muscians involved, especially
the vocals send the worlds best vibes out into the tent
for us to grab hold of and carry on.

Regarding US artists and US releases, I was really
taken aback the other day as I went out vinylshopping.
I had snatched off 25- 30 tunes from the list, that I
    wanted to check out.

Much to my surprise NONE was availabe at the
time given which sort of collided with my
perspective of the world as defined by the list here.

Though we seek out and share interesting acts
the availability is still limited regionally. I for one
was amazed that Zero 7 had not already been released
    statewide.

So the moral of the story ? Good music is here
for us to grab hold of provided you guys keep
    them playlists and recommendations rolling.

And yes ....... This world of the new Zer0 7
is still one of my all time sensible classics. Yummie.......

    Rambling but alive
    Wax,cph
