    Hi,

By far the best mp3 sharing program is hotline. Its not a Napster-
clone, its more like an ftp search engine. People set their
computers up as Hotline servers to trade stuff, and advertise them
on 'trackers' (check www.tracker-tracker.com for a list of these).
You often have to upload a full cd to the server to be able to
download. But you get full albums in high quality and you get to
listen to them out of the pressured record shop environment. Plus
the servers are often dedicated to particular types of music. I am
on a server at the moment with a huge jazz section; in fact he
appears to have the whole Coltrane and Miles discography! Great
for finding out exactly what it is i really like, given that not many of
my friends know anything about jazz. In fact i would say my
internet music experience has only harmed record companies in
the sense that i'm digging a lot of old stuff that you can only buy
secondhand! Of course, if you download something and you like it
    BUY IT!
Unfortunately the Hotline company no long seems to be online (the
servers still are), but you can get a clone called Pitbull, although
    i'm not sure where from.

    Happy Hunting
    Tom
