Yes, I agree that Wax N' Facts in Little 5 Points is one of the best stores
for records and CD's in Atlanta. . .I've been going there for 20 something
    years now.

Another place I love is CD Merchants on Roswell Road at Piedmont. They have
the largest used jazz, club, and acid jazz CD selection in Atlanta . . . and
the best part is that you can listen to anything in the store for as long as
you want -- and you don't need to ask for any assistance. I have gone
through 100 CD's in the course of an afternoon there. All the CD's are in
the cases -- so, you just take them up to the player and listen to as many as
desire. It's a great place to find new music you've never heard of before.

As far as the club scene goes, 1150 is very hip -- but it tends to be a place
to be seen and heard, rather than to see and hear. If you want a place to
chill and hear good music or relax and have a decent conversation -- this
isn't really the place. But then, I hate crowds. I prefer to chill at the
Apache Cafe on Spring and 3rd. . .or, if you want to hear straight ahead
jazz, Churchill Grounds on Peachtree next to the Fox.
