    Ha ha, it's all in your point of reference, I guess, but the "obscure" jazz
    and world music stuff you refer to is considerably more mainstream than the
    latest clubby beats featured in SNC. Taking a look at recent issues,
    there've been articles on: Yusef Lateef, Eric Dolphy, Elvin Jones, Susanna
    Baca, Orchestra Baobab, etc. Where on the planet are those artists obscure?
    ;-)

    But that's the major appeal of SNC, in my opinion: balancing coverage
    between artists of considerable accomplishment and renown against those
    upstart DJ/producers of the last 15 minutes. And that is why, of the
    half-dozen or so music magazines I read regularly, SNC is the only one I
    truly NEED.

    But, I like Plastiks too! :-)
