    ............. and we luv dem Helsinki bunnies too! Ouch!

    I sometimes wonder how all this came about. Of how I find myself in yet =
    another beautiful city hanging out with some of the coolest folks you =
    could possibly wish to meet. I actually wanted to be a footballer =
    playing alongside Beckham and co in the World Cup this weekend! Somehow =
    though, once again, I find myself playing records instead in a far away =
    destination. Cuki not complaining cause we know playing records is all =
    good. This week we travel and tell of the delights of Helsinki, a =
    beautiful city up north somewhere. Here we go.........

    I'm picked up at the airport by my dear friend Jussi from the Leftside =
    Ensemble posse. A true jazz head in spirit and knowledgeable in all =
    things eclectic. For the next four days Jussi will guide me through the =
    adventures I will no doubt experience. We settle at base camp which is =
    Jussi's apartment in the centre of the city. One thing you notice about =
    Jussi is his immaculate and tidy ways. His apartment being spotlessly =
    neat and clean, no dirty dishes from last weeks curry takeaway! I've =
    looked through his record collection on many occasions and many visits =
    and am happy to report that it is still up to scratch. I can tell you =
    that it would be impossible for Jussi to ever own a dodgy record. New or =
    old, Jussi has not one single duff record in there, a classic selection =
    of music on the shelves then for my stay at his home. After a late =
    afternoon/early evening nap and some tasty Scandinavian nosh (pizza) we =
    make our way to the Kerma club.
    The Kerma club http://www.clubkerma.com/ is not named after a certain =
    Bobby Hughes anthem but in fact the other way around. Yep, Espen being =
    inspired enough to name his latest bullet after the club and visit to =
    Helsinki. Find yourself a dodgy Anita Kerr record in the local record =
    shop and spend some time at the club and that's about all you need! This =
    club is special for many reasons. First and probably the most important =
    reason, a certain barmaid works there! Yes, Maia the most beautiful =
    bunny in Finland will greet you with the warmest of all welcomes. Maia's =
    washboard abs got some props last week from Nippon Nik and those fine =
    looking abdominal muscles again I'm happy to report are still in groovy =
    and tip top shape. Different colour hair this time from my last visit to =
    Kerma but Maia is Maia and that is enough for Dr Boots to start watering =
    at the mouth. How happy the Cuki was to be walking around the club with =
    her telephone number, e-mail and home address in his back pocket. Maia =
    also looks after Cuki on the alcoholic front, never letting the Cuki get =
    too out of control, not after the last time anyway! This night too we =
    meet up with some of the finest DJ's around. Shouts to Sampo from the =
    Lifesaver record store who again is another who doesn't know about dodgy =
    or duff records. Also to Lil Tony who represents the Nuspirit Helsinki =
    posse http://www.nuspirit.com/ on his many DJ excursions worldwide. Lil =
    Tony is definitely one of my favourite DJ's on the circuit and his =
    soulful selections always moving Cuki boots to the max. Lil Tony the man =
    who brings me over to the wonderful Kerma club each time to check up on =
    Maia's stomach muscles. Good to bump into DJ's Ender and Eppu =
    http://www.djender.com/ who again are part of the Nuspirit Helsinki =
    posse, soulful guys through and through. Also in the club, Henkka from =
    the Leftside Ensemble with his lovely new girlfriend Milka (and believe =
    me, she is chocolate sweet). Henkka the man who had a problem with the =
    contents of his fridge or the lack of them I should say. Thankfully =
    Milka is on the case and Henkka now knowing there is more to life then =
    e-bay and Impulse records. Good to finally meet up with Dave Haynes from =
    Inspirit music in the UK representing some quality two step and deep =
    house. http://www.inspiritmusic.com/ I've said it before, but watch out =
    for this little label coming with some fine goodies in the 02. Dave in =
    town for a DJ gig and to spend some decent time checking dem Finnish =
    bunnies too. And on the matter of Finnish bunnies, one of my favourite =
    girlies on the small blue planet, my dear friend Maria, love to a =
    beautiful person in every form. Corr, don't these Cuki newsletters get =
    personal! All good then at Kerma club! Thursday night action and Cuki =
    having the time of his life. Finally the night ends and Jussi and Lil =
    Tony get the Cuki home for some sweet dreaming (probably about Maia). =
    BTW, Cuki played some records at the club too.

    Friday and the sun is shining in Helsinki. Perfect bunny watching =
    weather! So what do we do? We check out the record shops! Thankfully =
    Marika in the Lifesaver record shop counts as a top Finnish bunny so all =
    good. Shouts to Risto and Sampo also in the shop, do check =
    http://www.lifesaver.net/ and get yourself one of those G Litter CD's I =
    keep on ranting and raving about. Later in the day we got to meet two =
    members from one of Helsinki's little secrets, the G Litter. Those who =
    know G Litter from the Spectrum Works 'Folky' compilation of last year =
    know what to expect. Others get ready for the new age folky come disco =
    sound track of the year. This CD stuck in Cuki's CD player here at =
    Bootsville Vienna for many a week now. On this evening we get to DJ with =
    another great musical selector in Helsinki, DJ Sanna also from the =
    Nuspriit Helsinki posse. At one of the new clubs in town and a new night =
    called Bundolo http://www.bundolo.info/ DJ Sanna laying down lots of =
    quality music to keep Cuki on his toes with his selection. Much fun had =
    by all once again and Sanna's cool little Friday night session looking =
    like a worthy place to hang out if you ever in Helsinki. Sanna normally =
    DJ's with DJ Kimi who is also a representative of the Nuspirit of =
    Helsinki clan, Kimi though having a night out of town and we missed his =
    boots for sure (catch you on another day bro!). On this particular =
    night, Cuki also got his palms read by a wise and mystical maiden =
    (bunny) from Helsinki. Many thanks to Sonata for sharing many secrets =
    with the Cuki. Not every day you get your life told to you by a Finnish =
    bunny!=20

    Saturday and another day dedicated to the sun! Hanging out in this =
    beautiful city with the sun beating down on you, wow what a life! =
    Sipping coffee's and cokes in a street corner cafe and guess who pops =
    out of the woodwork? DJ Mad Mats from Sweden, he of the excellent Raw =
    Fusion club night in Stockholm and of the awesome new Raw Fusion record =
    label with two quality release in the shops as we speak. Do check for 'A =
    Bossa Eletrica' and the 'Stockholm Cyclo' out now on the label. Mats is =
    in town to play two gigs at the Kerma club and tonight Lil Tony, Mats =
    and the Cuki will do their best to entertain the Helsinki peeps with =
    nuff soulfulness in the garden hall of the Kerma club. Once again Cuki =
    finds himself propping up the bar at Kerma as Maia is again on duty with =
    those killa abdominal muscles. Most DJ's are distracted by whatever =
    another DJ is playing, this one is distracted by European bunnies behind =
    bars! Cuki is supposed to play some records but seems to go AWOL for =
    great lengths of time (where could he be?). Nice also to meet up with =
    Junha from Nine 2 Five records, another great label to check out for on =
    http://www.nine2fiveoffice.com/ Plenty great music coming out of Finland =
    then and definitely keeping up with the rest of Scandinavia which is as =
    you know, a hotbed of some awesome musical talent around, exciting days =
    lay ahead of us sonic junkies for sure. Another great night then and as =
    I sit here in Vienna one week later trying to recall it all, I find =
    myself slightly lost to what really happened on some of these nights. =
    Err the only thing that comes to mind is the girl with the fab abs!=20
    We finish as always with a Cuki finale to all my good friends and =
    buddies in Helsinki with a 'we luv ya boots'. Kiitos and thank you =
    especially to Jussi, Lil Tony, Sanna and of course Maia.
    Here now ends the Helsinki experience for another short time

    Congrats to International Jazz Playboy DJ Eivind Olsvik from Oslo and =
    his lovely girlie for the 'bun in the oven'. Congtrats to Mad Mats and =
    his squeeze from Stockholm also for the forthcoming baby action. Cuki =
    was no where near the scene at any stage. My trips to Stockholm and Oslo =
    were pure coincidence.

    Did anybody spot Wayne Pates World Cup predications this week! =
    Thankfully 'The Down Low' comes through every week at www.soulrebel.com

    Cuki top tips for the PC types
    Thanks to Scheibo for http://tiaf.at/liikenne.swf You should see the =
    man at Grand Turismo PS2. Ashtray driver in da house
    And thanks to Alexander for =
    http://w1.736.telia.com/~u73602493/flashback.html This is what we do in =
    the Soul Seduction office all day. Who needs funny cigarettes?
    Then you got some wicked mixes from that man Pablo Valentino in =
    Strasbourg http://desertik4.free.fr/pablovalentino_blueoutmix.mp3 and =
    http://www.wabam.com/radio/laiterie_mix.ram=20
    and http://www.wabam.com/indexfr.html and plenty more. Respect to Pablo =
    for his enthusiasm for the scene.
    Another enthusiastic broadcaster Velanche Stewart at Urban Landscapes =
    http://www.urbanlandscapesshow.com Nice selection Velanche, and Rui =
    Torrinha in Vienna town this week, check his show with his good buddy =
    Antonio Alves on Radio Nova's Transcendences show =
    http://www.radionova.fm/flash/transcendancas_uk.html
    Hats off to the boys from Pulver records/Dublex Inc who tore it up at =
    the Dub Club on Monday night. Get ready for the candy coated rework of =
    'Tango Forte'. Sick Sick Hush Hush!

    Finally, shouts to my man Manu at Plastiks www.plastiks.be new issue out =
    very soon. And DJ Olski at Groove Attack www.grooveattack.com for the =
    best mixed tape doing the rounds this summer www.olski.net=20

    Dr Boots prescribes the following for your forthcoming aural pleasure.=20
    *Nu Bitz to chart this week

    *Inverse Cinematics - Slow Swing (Pulver) 12"
    OK, so all you cats who thought the little independent Pulver label =
    couldn't climb any higher after the Dublex 'Tango Forte' monster, well I =
    got news for you! You were wrong! More wrong then you have ever been in =
    your life! Some serious young talent coming through and believe me, they =
    have plenty more where this come from. Its Pulver 007 and its shaking =
    and stirring its way outta the hush hush into the top spot. Even my dead =
    granny is dancing to this.=20

    *Lightning Head - Studio Don (Best Seven) CD-R
    If you like your bushes big, then this right up your alley! Hard core =
    riddems from Glyn Bigga Bush who definitely has more green then brown in =
    his roll ups. Bushman technologies coming through from Daniels Best =
    super Sevens label and this one great album on a sound tip that is =
    developing very nicely. Whatever we are gonna call this sound tip is =
    anybodies guess? It's all in there. Hold tight for early September =
    release but check early July for the first twelve from the album, the =
    awesome 'El Head Sound'

    *Nusprit Helsinki - S/T (Guidance) 3xLP
    Now in all it's finished glory. One of the best albums of the year gets =
    the vinyl treatment and Cuki feeling the need to inform all you cats =
    about Nuspirit Helsinki once again. Another great Hush Hush CD-R bites =
    the dust but this doesn't mean he end of giving props and respect to the =
    crew in Helsinki. Some albums are more complete then others, this is one =
    of them. From start to finish from left to right this long player =
    fulfils all your wishes.

    Stereotyp- My Sound (G-Stone) 3xLP
    So hear this! 'We come fi tell ya 'bout the sweet rub a dub'. 18th =
    district, 21st century, the prot=E9g=E9 and time to blow the myth about =
    Viennese music once and for all! ST comes with my personal favourite =
    album of the year. And we know Cuki's judgement counts on this one! =
    Forget two step, we finally go Ragga step! It may have missed out in =
    Nippon Nik's chart but that's probably because Stefan doesn't have a =
    Japanese passport. This a real true sound of creation, this a real true =
    sound of revelation.=20

    Stereotyp - Un Dos Tres/Silence (G Stone) 12"=20
    A little story! Once upon a time at 'Bite your Granny' with the infamous =
    Nik Weston. Playing back to back with Nippon Nik and Cuki's turn to put =
    a tune on the deck. Coffee's classic 'Casanova' out of the box and out =
    of Nippons mouth comes ''It's all over Jazzanova''. End of story and a =
    bit of nu jazz folklore there for ya. Anyway, with this twelve, it =
    really is all over
    Jazzanova. Two 'out of this universe' tracks and one being exclusive to =
    the twelve.

    *V/A - Co-operation Session 2 (Co-op) CD-R
    Second session form the Goya camp with all the artists spliting it up =
    equally. Broken beats by the bucket load and all exclusive to the =
    session. As rough as it gets the Co-op sound never forgets about the =
    soul. Big Bang, Rima, Da One Away just a few of the knob twiddlers on =
    show.

    *Amp Fiddler - Basementality (Genuine) 12"
    Killa soulful grooves outta Detroit with keyboard king Amp who has =
    played alongside Carl Craig, Moodymann, Lucy Pearl to name a few =
    supplying the soul. Kenny Dixon Jr comes with one of those minimal =
    mixes but it's the flip side that will cause the nappy changes! Yep, the =
    B sounds like D'Angelo with a wonky wheel on his skateboard. Wicked.

    *Brooks - You, Me & Us (Mantis) CD-R
    Monster player and if you didn't know, you could be mistaken for =
    thinking this was a new Herbert album. In fact, this could be the best =
    album that Herbert didn't make! Dani makes sexy vocal apperances too. =
    Yep, more sexy twisted house music that will hopefully blow up big time =
    for the Brooks and Mantis crew. Check for a track called 'Don't usually =
    do this' for the helium voiced of you out there.=20

    *V/A - The Good Good Vol 2 (2000 Black) CD-R
    Dego coming with nuff bullets for the next instalment of Good Good! =
    Could this be the best nu jazz/broken beat compilation ever? Some of =
    your all time 2000 Black favourites and some outstanding new licks =
    exclusive to the album. All the usual west London suspects included, =
    Domu, Pavel Kostiuk, Seiji, Phlash. Every one a winner.=20

    *Slow Supreme - Music under Pressure (Jazid) CD-R
    Lets take you back a bit to the wonderful ten inch days of 'Green tea'! =
    Remember that one? Well Jazid recordings outta Oslo come with a super =
    long player from the Slow Supreme, the outfit who produced that =
    memorable piece of music. Tight productions, quirky yet inviting sound, =
    beats bent, broken and fixed again, all you need for a perfect picnic in =
    the park with the fairies! An album with plenty of the feel good factor. =

    *V/A - In Session: Rogall (No Zession) CD-R & 12"
    Welcome to Berlin boys and girls! Outstanding mix compilation from the =
    Sonar kollektiv man Stefan Rogall. I'm searching through my record =
    collection here at Bootsville to make sure I got some of these tunes =
    covered, some I'm searching for and just can't find. Looks like nuff =
    exclusives in the 16 tracks supplied. Solid stuff from the man.=20

    *Amplified Heart/D&B -The Silver Lining/Blue Winds (Gerd mixes)(4lux) =
    12"
    New label on the block and on that tip that makes us become obsessive =
    musical junkies. Nu jazz renegades look out for this one. That man Gerd =
    on remix duty and those Gerd productions of late been bringing home the =
    bacon for sure. Anybody heard the Gerd remix for the boys in Stockholm? =
    ;)

    *Da Lata - The remixes (Palm Pictures) 3xLP
    Every single Da Lata remix did it in some way and it was just a matter =
    of time before the whole remix story was put togther on a complete =
    compilation. Da Lata don't do it live anymore which is a shame but the =
    music and the producers live on and the exclusive track 'Golden' is =
    included in the package. Hold tight for the Bugz remix of this tune too. =

    *Snooze - Doremifa Girl (Ananda Project)(Nite Grooves) 12"
    Chris Brann in his Ananda guise delivering a warm and caring =
    interpretation of Snoozes 'Doremifa Girl'. Another big Hush Hush out of =
    the way and Cuki happy to be charting this in its finished format. =
    Excellent gentle tribalism with percussion and vocals in perfect =
    harmony.

    Obe Funke - Cosmo Afrique (Karma Giraffe) 3xLP
    Obe Funke, King Britt, Africa, Album, nuff said! OK then, just a few =
    words. Forget 'Cosmic lounge' for a second and concentrate on the =
    'Cosmic Afrique'. Forget about 'Afro Beat' for a while and get a hold of =
    some 'Afro Broken Beat'. Whoever that Obe Funke fella is, hats off to =
    him, while we at it, hats off to the King too. Big wink to my man in =
    Philly ;)

    Moonstar - Greed (remix)(Compost) 12"
    Oh my god. Nearly two years ago at the Goya office did I come across a =
    CD-R from Moonstar. I knew then that Kevin Moon's day will come and =
    Compost do the right thing and get this out and about for the headz. The =
    remixes take it to the next level and the big tune for Cuki at the Dub =
    Club 7th birthday bash. 36 DJ's saying 'What the f**k is that". Yes sir, =
    this is monster and it is music that makes me wanna be a DJ. There's =
    more to come for sure, this guy just starting also. Seek the excellent =
    Dupont album on PIR too.=20

    Garsaaidi - Frank Zaffa (Sequel's 131 mix)(Compost) 12"
    It's still the Compost corner!!!!!! Stop this! The Bootsville neighbours =
    not happy about the loudness and heavy footsteps happening here at B =
    Ville his night. "Talk to Mr Reinboth" I tell them! One my fav all time =
    Compost tracks gets the 02 treatment courtesy of Zurich's Sequel posse. =
    Man, I need a break from all these delights from Haagar St. Wicked =
    instrumental that immediately got plunged into the box.

    Q Tip/The Abstract - Breathe & Stop 2002 (Arista) 12"
    Only Q Tip could pull this off! Wacko Jacko gets the Q Tip major league =
    treatment. Girls will get their kit off to this, boys will be spinning =
    on their heads and everybody will be your best friend as you drop this =
    absolute monster remake of 'Don't stop till you get enough'. Is it =
    legit? Now we not so sure as we match the catalogue numbers up with last =
    release. Would help if they could spell Abstract correctly too.

    Jazzanova - That Night (Wah-cHU-kU remix)(JCR/Compost) 12'
    Tony Wahchuku aka one half of the awesome production team Attica Blues =
    comes with 10 minutes and 12 inches of pure pleasure and massive is the =
    word that comes to mind. Big eighties style stuff and Tony spreading the =
    sound around big big time. Yep, the saga does continue and the =
    Wah-cHU-kU man and his perspective ahead of the game. Believe, this the =
    sound that others will be trying to reproduce in months to come.

    Procreation - Rhythmatism EP (Compost) 12"
    Jesus, this must be the Compost corner! I wouldn't mind, but I'm only =
    three records into the package from Haagar St. Still got three to go! =
    Anyway, one of my favourite acts on the label get another top notch EP =
    out and once again it Cuki's boots losing all control. Progressive =
    electronica but never losing sight of the fact that people wanna dance. =
    Procreation got it, simple as that. Broken beats, Detroit, Nu Jazz! It's =
    all there baby.

    Atjazz - Lab Results sampler (Mantis) 12"
    Some of those well tasty unreleased remix joints from the Lab Results CD =
    finally find their way onto a finger licking twelve. The shops better be =
    ready for the hoards of vinyl junkies who will be on the scent of =
    another classy Mantis maxi player.=20

    Vincent Montana Jr - Heavy Vibes (Temposhere) 3xLP
    What is Vincent Montana Jr to you? To me, he is the man who found the =
    ultimate groove. The best disco ever made, the widest sound, the =
    originator of PHAT. Here we have another excellent reissue with enough =
    golden moments and a few exclusive ones to remind you of a truly class =
    act. Vinny Montana is simply the man that you need to follow and a =
    reissue that is simply timeless. Bring on the party

    Nubian Mindz - Good Vibez (Pysan mix)(Head to Toe) 12"
    004 takes it up where 001, 2 and 3 left off. Franks label gets another =
    Bugz boy on the imprint, this time Scott Clifford aka Bugz in the =
    Attic/Neon Phusion tweaks the knobs for another manic and broken beat =
    dancefloor bomb. The Bugz got banks of Titanium's lined up and the word =
    is that they are running at Warp factor speed. That man Daz on overtime =
    we think.=20

    Koop - Bright nights (Rima remixes)(JCR/Compost) 12"
    Yes, after a little break, we are back to the Compost corner for another =
    dose of forthcoming and select releases from Bavaria. This time we =
    travel many destinations to give you the finished product. We start off =
    with Gothenburg's lovely Yukimi who gets it on with Magnus and Oscar in =
    Stockholm. It then gets touched up or should I say rubbed up in Verona =
    and Bedford by the Bedford bomber know as Domu and a man like Volcov in =
    Italy. Finds its way to Munich where it receives a nice orange jacket =
    and finally arrives at Bootsville to be analysed by Dr Boots. He =
    prescribes that you buy on sight.

    DJ Jazzy Jeff - The Magnificent (BBE) CD-R
    JJ long player that will have Spencer Hamilton wetting his pants. Check =
    the collaboration with Jill Scott on a re make TIP of the Roy Ayers 'We =
    live in Brooklyn'. This one of course called 'We live in Philly', dirty =
    funk if ever I heard it. Check too the great collab with MAW with the =
    killer house choon 'In time' which have located a twelve off. 17 great =
    tracks and a bunch of class US acts in on the deal.=20

    Minus 8 - Minut (Compost) CD-R & 12"
    It's back! Talking 'bout the Compost corner! OK, we had a little break =
    with Jazzy J and Stefan's new joint but we well and truly back with =
    another out there forthcomer from Compost records. Man, they got some =
    licks coming soon. We now under the headphones too, keeping the =
    neighbours at bay! The drum n bass killer that is 'A Concha De Roisa' =
    will have my good buddy DJ Gumix of the Dub Club reaching for his 'Oh my =
    God pills'! Yes, this one straight out of the Patife/Marky school of =
    Drum n Bossa and for the happy headz. Check the album for more Bossa and =
    Breaks. That was number 6 of 6. That was the Compost corner, we hope you =
    enjoyed! Cuki did :)

    Tony Allen - Home Cooking (Comet) CD-R
    Shit! I found this in a pile of CD's that have been here at Boostville =
    for yonks. Better late then never as they say and it's OK cause it still =
    ain't out we think. Tony Allen, beat keeper for Fela comes with a great =
    new album. Nuff surprises including great tracks that sound like a =
    meeting of Afro Beat and Hip Hop. Ty the man with that lick and check a =
    spooky track with Eska, her of IG Culture and Uschi Classen fame. Of =
    course, the French, the very best at getting the true sound of Africa =
    out to the masses. This is a 'well serious' album and shouldn't be over =
    looked. Respect to Manu and the boys.

    Manu Dibango - Soul Fiesta (Chateau Flight)(Verstaile) 12"
    Talkin' 'bout Africa and France! Excusive track to the new Chateau =
    Flight remix album. Heavyweight is the word, and reinforcing the fine =
    reputation Chateau Flight have as producers and as remixers. Get out =
    your tennis rackets and play along to this boundary breaking Afro Beat =
    belter. Glad to hear this will make its way onto a twelve in the near =
    future too. Do check the Chateau Flight 'Remixent' album cause even if =
    you got all the twelve's, you need to hear this in the context of a =
    great album. Good music to have at home I can tell you. This time =
    respect to Didier and Gilb-r.

    V/A - One Step Ahead 2 (Straight Ahead) 3xLP
    This time we gotta give props to that man Alex Dallas in Zurich for =
    getting this one on. Awesome collection of Broken beats, Phuture Funk =
    and Nu Jazz, all tinged with soul, all rocking the floor. Tony from =
    Attica Blues on some kind of dream pill with his productions, he is the =
    man of the moment. Simone Serritella, Raw Deal, Sequel to name just a =
    few coming through big time too for one of the best labels around. The =
    label is called Straight Ahead and there is a very good reason way.

    KP2 - Postive Situation (ecco.chamber) 12"
    Exclusive track by Eddy Ramich for the next episode of the Playground =
    series on the ecco.chamber imprint out of Vienna. Along with his partner =
    Dus, these two having been gaining plaudits for their groovy =
    compositions and tight productions for some time now. Enough Cuki boots =
    been well worn out to a tune outta Zagreb I can tell you. Check the flip =
    for a hypnotic groove by Dus and the awesome Quant track 'Stimulus' too.

    Slotcatcher - Changes (Darcosan mix)(Vienna Scientists) 12"
    Due sometime in the fall but 'early doors' here at Bootsville with a =
    tech/broken beat stepper from DJ Darcosan. Dem boyz been listening to =
    the Stereotyp action and this the first of the new wave of stepperz from =
    Vienna. Classic moody dancefloor rinse and the sound of things to come =
    from wonderful Wien.

    The Menheads - La Politique (Quantic remix)(Vienna Scientists) 2x12"
    Nuff remix pressure of this double pack but it's the Quantic rub that =
    really gets the pulse rising. This a Nu funk monster for sure and we =
    hoping Speedy on the case. Will Holland lives in Brighton and this =
    rocks.=20

    Shaun Esscoffery - Days like this (Danny D's back in the day =
    mix)(Oyster) 12"
    One sided 'ting' with a new 110 bpm rub just for the summer. Great =
    voice, great song and surely just a matter of time before Shaun makes =
    the big time. Just behind Spinna and Ticklah in 'who's got the best =
    remix going on' but still a great version to look out for. Shouts to Big =
    Ben for getting this over to sunny Bootsville.

    Kaidi Tatham - Feed the Cat (BB Boogie remix)(Laws of Motion) 12"=20
    Anthem in a certain BMW in Vienna! Yes the P_EACE man goes home the long =
    way when this is playing on his 'in car' entertainment system. You'll =
    need extra springs in the seats too if you follow suit. The Boogie have =
    the bounce and this a perfect remix for Kaidi's next twelve. I'm sure =
    I'm not alone when I say we want a BB album! You on it Mr I-Kue. Hats =
    off to Chris for sorting out Dr Boots and Mr K with a nice pressing.=20

    Microfish meets Stereotyp - Who me (?) CD-R=20
    Unsigned music so get your cheque books out boys and girls! Any of you =
    kool kats check out the 'Keen' twelve by Microfish on Sonar Kollektiv a =
    few months back? Because if you didn't, you missed a little beauty. That =
    man Stereotyp added his touch to the package too with another rough =
    rider of a remix. Well, they are back again, but this time no remix, =
    just a proper collaboration of two wayward minds. In the deal you get =
    the Baltic sea version finished in upper Germany by Microfish and you =
    get the Viennese version courtesy of Stereotyp roughing it up once again =
    in the 18th district. So is it any good! Well, I'm asking myself if =
    penguins have cold arses? Did we create a little interest?=20

    Peace Orchestra - Reset (G-Stone) 3xLP
    The P_EACE man sits proud! His prot=E9g=E9 has delivered! His remix pals =
    have come through with the 'readies' too. Talking about chums like =
    Jimbo, those tango boys from Paris, the Chateau Flight crew also from =
    Paris, the legendary DJ DSL, the wine collector from Freiburg, the Fluid =
    Ounce boys, Messer's Rutten, Meitz, Komsa to name but a few. All good at =
    Casa K's then. Now you can start the next album Mr P_EACE man ;)

    Swell Session meets Ernesto - Let me decide (Broken beat versions) =
    (Hollow) CD-R
    That bonkerony broken beat track outta Gonkyburg just got even more =
    broken. Sick, sick, sick, my London flat mates taking it up a notch or =
    three. Told ya a while back that the Gonkyburg crews getting it =
    together. Now we seeing Plej, Jol, Ernesto, Quant featuring in charts =
    all over the joint. Next level biz from the boys, seek the forthcoming =
    Tribes comp for the original cut but be prepared for these new rubs =
    forthcoming on Gothenburg's own independent Hollow label. Proud of my =
    Swedish brothers.=20

    Reelside - ? (Sirkus) 12"
    Reelside is Domu! Still no info on the white but forthcoming on the =
    Sirkus imprint. Anyway side A has Domu in Detroit disco mode while the =
    flip has a two step mix which could actually be Maddslinky filling in. =
    Another excellent Sirkus and Domu outing.=20

    Karin Krog - Meaning of love (Herbert remix)(Crippled Dick) 12"
    Matty boy with another quirky little remix job to his credit. Karin =
    Krog, famous Norwegian jazz diva gets knob twiddled big time. If you =
    know the original then you know Matty boy having a field day twiddling =
    the knobs. Keeping the tempo down as he did with the last Cinematic =
    Orchestra twelve yet still enough groove to check your feet are moving =
    in the right direction. As with all Herbert remixes, no guarantee that =
    those feet are moving in the direction. We dance in circles and normally =
    veering to the left too

    Frankie Valentine - Intro Outro (Recloose & Volcov remixes)(Sunshine) =
    12"=20
    Hats off to Claus at Sunshine for commissioning these two excellent =
    remixes for our boy Frankie. The original makes the cut but Matt's and =
    Enrico's mixes steal the show. Recloose super consistent as ever and =
    some will say his best remix so far. The Volcov in his 4-4-2 formation =
    takes it to a new level too! His best and most spiritual remix for sure =
    I reckon. Yes, this is one very hot twelve.=20

    G-Litter - V/A (Lifesaver) CD & 12"=20
    TSOH? The sound of Helsinki that is! Stunning album and twelve from the =
    best record shop in Finland. Check the twelve for the sweetest disco =
    record of the new century. Check the flip for tasty re edit from Mika =
    Snickars who runs another quality record shop, this time in Stockholm. =
    We though at Bootsville getting deep with the album and we advise to =
    seek all means in
    getting a copy. Thanks to all in the shop for Cuki's copy. Nice to meet =
    some of the crew too.

    Heal - Bubblin' (Original & Broke Tek mixes)(Key) 12"=20
    Watch this! I'm telling ya now! How ****ing monster is this! Two mixes =
    killing me, both gonna blow up! The Simbad and Fred McQuinn turning up =
    the heat. Forget the bagels, the best thing on Brick lane is this lot. =
    Yes, get your notepads out boys and girls and jot down the details. A =
    consignment of nu jazz and tek funk about to hit the streets and believe =
    me,
    there is a lot more where this came from. Bubblin' is red hot.

    Emo - Relief for free (Butti 49 remix)(Stereo Deluxe) 12"
    Stavanger takes it to the next level for Scandinavia. Seriously guys, =
    get ready! Scandinavia coming with the next chapter in all vibes =
    musical. The book never ends, and these pages belong to Northern Europe? =
    Expect this one remix alone to make my man Snorre the hottest remixer =
    around. This is sick and I'm not sure if my neighbours are complaining =
    about the levels of sound or Cuki jumping up and down like a loon! Koop, =
    Swell, Ernesto, Espen, Plej, Quant, Jol, NuSpirit Helsinki, all that =
    stuff on the Raw Fusion label? Scandinavia is red hot and they are only =
    just beginning.=20

    This weeks Java Joint
    Heikki Sarmanto - New Hope Jazz Mass
    Finlanda FA 201 LP2 (1978)
    Thanks to my man Henkka in Helsinki for this weeks Java Joint. Nice to =
    finally have a copy of this excellent dose of Finnish jazz. An album =
    dedicated to Duke Ellington and John Coltrane and most definitely on a =
    spiritual vibe. A combination of the Heikki Sarmanto Ensemble and the =
    vocals of the Gregg Smith vocal quartet and the Long Island Symphonic =
    choral association. Yeah, lots of vocals on this double album and all in =
    the uplifting and preacher man stylee. It was actually recorded in a =
    church! Thankfully it is a jazz album first and foremost and you never =
    feel like you are being bible bashed. Didn't quite make me wanna go back =
    to Sunday school.=20

    <DIV>I sometimes wonder how all this came about.&nbsp;Of how I find =

    yet another beautiful city hanging out with some of the coolest folks =
    you could=20
    possibly wish to meet. I actually wanted to be a footballer playing =
    alongside=20
    Beckham and co in the World Cup this weekend! Somehow though, once =
    again, I find=20
    myself playing records instead&nbsp;in a far away destination. Cuki not=20
    complaining cause we know playing records is all good. This week we =
    travel and=20
    tell of the delights of Helsinki, a beautiful city up north =
    somewhere.&nbsp;Here=20
    we go.........</DIV>
    <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
    <DIV>I'm picked up at the airport by my dear friend Jussi from the =
    Leftside=20
    Ensemble posse. A true jazz head&nbsp;in spirit and knowledgeable in all =
    things=20
    eclectic. For the next four days Jussi will guide me&nbsp;through the=20
    adventures&nbsp;I will no doubt experience. We settle at base camp which =
    is=20
    Jussi's apartment in the centre of the city. One thing you notice about =
    Jussi is=20
    his immaculate and tidy ways. His apartment being spotlessly neat and =
    clean, no=20
    dirty dishes from last weeks curry takeaway! I've looked through his =
    record=20
    collection&nbsp;on many occasions and many visits&nbsp;and am happy to =
    report=20
    that it is still up to scratch. I can tell you that it would be =
    impossible for=20
    Jussi to ever own a dodgy record. New or old, Jussi has not one single =
    duff=20
    record in there, a classic selection of music on the shelves then for my =
    stay at=20
    his home. After a late afternoon/early evening nap and some tasty =
    Scandinavian=20
    nosh (pizza) we make our way to the Kerma club.</DIV>
    <DIV>The Kerma club <A href=3D"http://www.clubkerma.com/"><FONT=20
    color=3D#0000ff>http://www.clubkerma.com/></A>&nbsp;is not named =
    after a=20
    certain Bobby Hughes anthem but in fact the other way around. Yep, Espen =
    being=20
    inspired enough to name his latest bullet after the club and visit to =
    Helsinki.=20
    Find yourself a dodgy Anita Kerr record in the local record shop and =
    spend some=20
    time at the club and that's about all you need! This club is special for =
    many=20
    reasons. First and probably the most important reason, a&nbsp;certain =
    barmaid=20
    works there! Yes, Maia the most beautiful bunny in Finland will greet =
    you with=20
    the warmest of all welcomes. Maia's washboard&nbsp;abs got some props =
    last week=20
    from Nippon Nik and those fine looking abdominal muscles again I'm happy =
    to=20
    report are still in groovy and tip top shape. Different colour hair this =
    time=20
    from my last visit to Kerma but Maia is Maia and that is enough for Dr =
    Boots to=20
    start watering at the mouth. How happy the Cuki was to be walking around =
    the=20
    club with her telephone number, e-mail and home address in&nbsp;his back =
    pocket.=20
    Maia also looks after Cuki on the alcoholic front, never letting the =
    Cuki get=20
    too out of control, not after the last time anyway! This night too we =
    meet up=20
    with some of the finest DJ's around. Shouts to Sampo from the Lifesaver =
    record=20
    store who again is another who doesn't know about dodgy or duff records. =
    Also to=20
    Lil Tony who represents the Nuspirit Helsinki posse <A=20
    href=3D"
    http://www.nuspirit.com/"><FONT=20
    color=3D#0000ff>http://www.nuspirit.com/></A>&nbsp;on his many DJ =
    excursions=20
    worldwide. Lil Tony is definitely one of my favourite DJ's on the =
    circuit=20
    and&nbsp;his soulful selections always moving Cuki boots to the max. Lil =
    Tony=20
    the man who brings me over to the wonderful Kerma club each time to =
    check up on=20
    Maia's stomach muscles. Good to bump into DJ's Ender and Eppu <A=20
    href=3D"

    color=3D#0000ff>http://www.djender.com/></A>&nbsp;who again are =
    part of the=20
    Nuspirit Helsinki&nbsp;posse, soulful guys through and through. Also in =
    the=20
    club, Henkka from the Leftside Ensemble with&nbsp;his lovely new =
    girlfriend=20
    Milka (and believe me, she is chocolate sweet). Henkka the man who had a =
    problem=20
    with the contents of his fridge or the lack of them I should say. =
    Thankfully=20
    Milka is on the case&nbsp;and Henkka now knowing there is more to life =
    then=20
    e-bay and Impulse records. Good to finally meet up with Dave Haynes from =

    Inspirit music in the UK representing some quality two step and deep =
    house. <A=20

    Dave in town for a DJ gig and to spend some decent time checking dem =
    Finnish=20
    bunnies too. And on the matter of Finnish bunnies, one of my favourite =
    girlies=20
    on the small blue planet, my dear friend&nbsp;Maria, love to&nbsp;a =
    beautiful=20
    person in every form. Corr, don't these Cuki newsletters get personal! =
    All good=20

    his life.=20
    Finally the night ends and&nbsp;Jussi and Lil Tony get the Cuki home for =
    some=20
    sweet dreaming (probably about Maia). BTW, Cuki played some records at =
    the club=20
    too.</DIV>
    <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
    <DIV>Friday and the sun&nbsp;is shining in Helsinki. Perfect bunny =

    Marika in=20
    the Lifesaver record shop counts as a top Finnish bunny so all good. =
    Shouts=20
    to&nbsp;Risto and&nbsp;Sampo&nbsp;also in the shop, do check <A=20
    href=3D"

    color=3D#0000ff>http://www.lifesaver.net/></A>&nbsp;and get =
    yourself one of=20
    those G Litter CD's I keep on ranting and raving about. Later in the day =
    we got=20
    to meet two members from one of Helsinki's little secrets, the G Litter. =
    Those=20
    who know G Litter from the Spectrum Works 'Folky' compilation of last=20
    year&nbsp;know what to expect. Others get ready for&nbsp;the new age =
    folky come=20
    disco sound track of the year. This CD stuck in Cuki's CD player here at =

    Bootsville Vienna for many a week now. On this evening we get to DJ with =
    another=20
    great musical selector in Helsinki, DJ Sanna also from the Nuspriit =
    Helsinki=20
    posse. At one of the new clubs in town and a new&nbsp;night called =
    Bundolo <A=20
    href=3D"
    http://www.bundolo.info/"><FONT=20
    color=3D#0000ff>http://www.bundolo.info/></A>&nbsp; DJ Sanna =
    laying down=20
    lots of quality music to keep Cuki on his toes with his selection. Much =
    fun had=20
    by all once again and Sanna's cool little Friday night session looking =
    like a=20
    worthy place to hang out if you ever in Helsinki. Sanna normally DJ's =
    with DJ=20
    Kimi who is also a representative of the Nuspirit of Helsinki clan, Kimi =
    though=20
    having a night out of town and we missed his boots for sure (catch you =
    on=20
    another day bro!). On this particular night, Cuki also got his palms =
    read by a=20
    wise and mystical maiden (bunny) from Helsinki.&nbsp;Many thanks&nbsp;to =
    Sonata=20
    for sharing many secrets&nbsp;with the Cuki. Not every day you get your =
    life=20
    told to you by a Finnish bunny! </DIV>
    <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
    <DIV>Saturday and another day dedicated to the sun!&nbsp;Hanging out in =
    this=20
    beautiful city with the sun beating down on you, wow what a life! =
    Sipping=20
    coffee's and cokes in a street corner cafe and guess who pops out of the =

    woodwork? DJ Mad Mats from Sweden, he of the excellent Raw Fusion club =
    night in=20
    Stockholm and of the awesome new Raw Fusion record&nbsp;label with two =
    quality=20
    release in the shops as we speak. Do check for 'A Bossa Eletrica' and =
    the=20
    'Stockholm Cyclo' out now on the label. Mats is in town to play two =
    gigs&nbsp;at=20
    the Kerma club and tonight Lil Tony, Mats and the Cuki will do their =
    best to=20
    entertain the Helsinki peeps with nuff soulfulness in the garden hall of =
    the=20
    Kerma club. Once again Cuki finds himself propping up the bar at Kerma =
    as Maia=20
    is again on duty with those killa abdominal muscles. Most DJ's are =
    distracted by=20
    whatever another DJ is playing, this one is distracted&nbsp;by European =
    bunnies=20
    behind bars!&nbsp;Cuki is supposed to play some records but seems to go =
    AWOL for=20
    great lengths of time (where could he be?). Nice also to meet up with =
    Junha from=20
    Nine&nbsp;2 Five records, another great label to check out for on <A=20
    href=3D"

    coming out of Finland then and definitely keeping up with the rest of=20
    Scandinavia which is as you know, a hotbed of some awesome musical =
    talent=20
    around, exciting days lay ahead of us sonic junkies for sure. Another =
    great=20
    night then and as I sit here in Vienna one week later trying =
    to&nbsp;recall it=20
    all, I find myself slightly lost&nbsp;to what really happened on some of =

    </DIV>
    <DIV>We finish as always with a Cuki finale to all my good friends and =
