    Toshiyuki Goto/Mato -- Reminiscence/Tribe . . . 12-inch
    Flower (Japan), 2002
"Reminiscence" is a wonderfully atmospheric groover from Toshiyuki Goto
-- warm beats with a soft finish, covered by a background keyboard organ
line that bubbles away like you're hearing it come from a distant club
down the street -- all of which makes for a very compelling (and
soulful) listen! The track's backed by "Tribe" by Mato -- a tune that's
got a slight Afro House inflection, and some more very nice organ
    riffing!

    Jazztronik -- Para A Terra (original, RDR rmx) . . . 12-inch
    Flower (Japan), 2002
A wonderful number by Jazztronik -- more laidback and mellow than their
other singles, tripping lightly through space with a catchy vocal
refrain couched in keyboards, warmly picking a path through the stars
and always staying delightful! The remix adds in a bit more of a dubby
approach -- which changes the mood a lot, and makes that version sound
    like a whole new cut!

    Utsumi Izuru -- Utsumi . . . CD
    Flower (Japan), 2002
Jazzy samples with an earthy edge -- worked together in some magical
soundscapes that also manage to groove nicely at the best moments! One
of the more "organic" titles in the hip catalog of the Japanese Flower
Records label -- and a compelling release that takes us back to some of
the more progressive days of the Idyllic Records label of the mid 90s.
Titles include "Takin You Underground", "Trilhas", "Moments Of Magic",
    "A Promise", and "Erizevrio".

            Reggae Disco Rockers -- Oasis . . . CD
            Flower (Japan), 2002
Japan's Reggae Disco Rockers have a really unique approach to the groove
-- a blend of dub and house rhythms, augmented by some nice jazzy
touches and sweet female vocals -- all of which makes for an instantly
recognizable sound! This album's one of the few full length sets by the
group, and it's a much deeper batch of tracks than some of their
previous singles -- quite soulful at the best moments, pulling together
a range of influences that shouldn't sit so well next to each other, but
which manage to work nicely in a unique Japanese-styled fusion approach!
    Titles include
"Ronin", "Still In Dub", "A Woman", "A House Is Not A Home", "Just Tell
Me", "Asian Roots", and "Dis Reggae Muzik".

        Reggae Disco Rockers & Others -- Remixes Chapter 1 . . . CD
    Flower (Japan), 2002
The unique sound of Japan's Reggae Disco Rockers is always a treat --
even more so on this batch of souped up remixes! The group's original
grooves are reworked here by a host of remixers, mostly Japanese, with
talents that include Little Big Bee, Jazztronik, DJ Nori, Su Paka Pooh,
and other members of the Flower Records posse! Titles include new mixes
of "Bless You", "Asian Roots", "Oasis", "Baby", "Tears On My Pillow",
"Three The Hard Way", "I Saw The Light", "Just Tell Me", and "Lonely
    Woman".
