Sorry for not answering this question earlier....

    1. The Soul-Patrol Digest Magazine is designed to be an online publication
(although we may at some point be a hardcopy publication, we have to start
    small as we always do).

    2. That means it will be available in Canada and anywhere else in the world.

    3. Of course you are free to print it out as you like, should you want a
hardcopy version of it. If you do print it out, I would ask that you print
out several copies, to share with your friends who may not have access to a
    computer!

    4. Hopefully you have already checked it out at the following url:
    http://www.soul-patrol.com/magazine/
Just fill out the form and your password & url to download will be emailed to
you so that you can get the FREE October issue.
Let us know what you think of it?

    5. Should you want to get it on a monthly basis, the cost is $12.00/year if
you sign up before the end of October. Starting with the November issue, the
    cost will double to $24.00/year.

    6. We are doing this in order to give current SP members and their friends to
get in at the cheapest price we can offer it at.

    7. After the end of October we will be going into a massive push to get folks
outside of the current membership signed up. During the month of October, we
are keeping it low key, because we think that the price alone should make
folks who are already here want to sign up. (we aren't going to badger anyone
    to sign up right now)

    8. However, don't let the low key nature of our current approach fool you. On
November 1 2002 there are going to be some DRAMATIC changes here, that many
people here will NOT like. For example, we will be starting up a new PREMIUM
CONTENT MAILING LIST for the people who buy the magazine, that will be quite a
    bit different than this one

    9. Obviously Mike and I aren't going to make much money off of this endevor at
    these prices.

    10. Our intent with this is to help to create an audience for this music.
It's about making a commitment to the music itself.

    11. For example, say we can get 200 people from Montreal to sign up, this
would mean that we have 200 people from Montreal that we actually know are
from Montreal, who are willing to spend some amount of money with respect to
this music. Same is true for Memphis, Dallas, Miami, Toronto, Paris, Buenos
    Aries, Newark, Richmond, etc

    12. That would mean that I could contact a club owner in Montreal and tell
them that we have 200 Soul-Patrollers in his/her city who would spend money on
REAL soul music in their city.

13 That means that if the clubowner has a venue that seats 400, they could be
persuaded to book one of Soul-Patrol's INDEPENDENT artists (Mandrill, Mighty
Sam, Rio Soul, Lisa Gay, Will Wheaton, Sonny Boy, Ray, Goodman and Brown, Ty
Stephens, Manhattans, Julie Dexter, Dells, Carlton Smith, Slapbak, Bettye
LaVette, Billy Paul, Marvin Tate, Delphonics, etc) into their club, with the
knowlege that they could draw some number that approaches 1/2 of the house.

    14. It also means that we would have a core group of people who would also
consider purchasing the CD's of these INDEPENDENT artists (Mandrill, Mighty
Sam, Rio Soul, Lisa Gay, Will Wheaton, Sonny Boy, Ray, Goodman and Brown, Ty
Stephens, Manhattans, Julie Dexter, Dells, Carlton Smith, Slapbak, Bettye
LaVette, Billy Paul, Marvin Tate, Delphonics, etc) DIRECTLY FROM THE ARTISTS
    themselves.

    15. It's VERY important to these artists that the fans are willing to buy the
CD's DIRECTLY from them, since they aren't a part of the traditional music
establishment and the ONLY way they can survive and continue is if people are
willing to buy their products OUTSIDE of the traditional systems of
    distribution (ie: record stores).

    16. Mike and I are commited to doing what we can do to enhance the economic
possibilities for these artists and we feel that it is incumbent upon ALL OF
US as fans to SUPPORT THESE ARTISTS (with our $$$$$), otherwise the
music/culture that we all love is simply going to die off.

    17. We recognize that there are some people who aren't interested in this
concept and do not want to become a part of it. They just want to come here
    and read about "old music".

    18. We have a higher purpose in mind...we want to create an envoronment for
music fans who are going to ACTUALLY SUPPORT THE ARTISTS (not the people who
only want to give "lip service"). In short we want to take things up to the
    next level

    19. If you have already looked at the Soul-Patrol Digest Magazine and you like
it, I would encourage you to sign up to get it monthly RIGHT NOW at the
