Maybe people are not calling in because the show is during peak nightlife
    hours on a Saturday!
Personally, (although I will most probably have already heard the show on
the previous Wednesday) I will tune in from my car while out and about to
and fro whatever the happenings of the evening on Saturday.
Anyways, if KCRW fails to keep the show on, if not live from 4:00pm to
    6:00pm on wednesdays: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/radio1.shtml
one can listen to a stream of the most recently recorded show at any time
    through the link below:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/urban/ look under "Listen Again".
