STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au/index2.html (see below for times)

    Hello all

I'm not sure how much background noise you heard in my interview with Mark
Rae, but he was actually on a train at the time. It turned out to be the
wrong train too, we found out after the interview. Ever busy, he has just
done his first album without Steve Christian, is remixing away as usual and
has a heap of great projects lined up on his Grand Central label. I'm most
excited about US vocalist Niko who features on Mark's "Skio" and on Mr
    Scruff's recent "Come Along".
    http://www.grandcentral.co.uk

Keeping with the trains, it was about time Trainspotters' Corner returned
with another old Brazilian gem. "Sob O Mar" was the opening cut for the
self-titled 1974 LP by Jaime (Alem) & Nair (Candia) for the CID label. Nair
released another version of the track on a live CD from 1996, which was then
picked up by Joe Davis' Far Out Records for the "Friends From Rio 2"
compilation. The form remixers of the time were Kyoto Jazz Massive, and Joe
brought them in for a great remix which made the Stylin Best of 2000.

This week, a chat and a mix with Morgan Geist and Darshan Jesrani from Metro
Area, where boogie and techno meet to make house music.

    until then
    Ennio Styles
