i just did the math, and that comes to less than $300
a week. i'm totally winging this, but it seems to me
that for a world famous dj that's pretty low. how
much do you think pete tong, or any of the other
"taste-maker" djs would charge for a weekly 2 hour
show? now if you put someone on a listener-supported
radio station and then give them a terrible timeslot
(i.e., when most of the target audience is not at home
or in their car) of course that's going to seem like a
    lot of money.

nobody does anything for free on that scale. remember
that jason bentley, garth trinidad & nic harcourt get
paid for their shows on kcrw. gilles is a LOT more
famous than all of those guys--when's the last time
any of those guys have played an international gig?
