STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au/index2.html (see below for times)

    Hello all

My guest 2 Fridays ago - Volker Meitz - featured in the first edition of
Stylin. DJ Spinna featured in the second. Spinna has also been a long-time
favourite of mine for his versatility, first coming to my attention for his
hip hop releases with De La Soul, Rawkus and the Jigmastas and then taking
on other sounds and tempos from balearic downtempo to broken beats to
soulful house. He always brings a soulfulness and musicality to these
productions, often collaborating with top quality musicians. Amongst his
forthcoming releases are a remix for Roy Hargrove's incredible "Poetry"
(featuring Q-Tip & Erykah Badu) and a mix CD for UK label Papa. His solo
album "Here to There" is out now as part of the BBE Beat Generation series
which also featured recent Stylin visitor Jazzy Jeff.

But the best news of all is that DJ Spinna and MC Kriminul are still in
Melbourne and will be playing a surprise intimate set at Honkytonks this
Thursday night, joining Kano, percussionist Elvis Aljus and myself for an
eclectic Open Sesame throwdown. Email me back with any names you need on the
    door for no-fuss entry.

Meanwhile, I will be joined in the studio this Friday by Tom Churchill, UK
DJ, producer and boss of Emoticon Records, known for walking the line
between deep techno and broken beats.

    until then
    Ennio Styles
