What a terrible tragedy - especially to think of the titles you lost!
A similar thing happened to me once, when I left my record bag in front of
my doorstep (on the street) one night as I was opening my door (in an
"altered" state) ... by the time I realized my mistake the following
morning, the records were long gone.

Anyway, if soul jazz is what you seek, why not go to the horse's mouth:

Otherwise of course you should try Dusty Groove

arrrrr, what a way to start the new year! my record bag gets stolen right
out from under my legs on the public transit! does anybody know a place
that might have copies of older soul jazz/universal sound titles like
    'soul
jazz love strata east', 'strata 2 east', 'the best of doug carn' (i have a
lot of black jazz releases so i might not need this but i can't remember
what's on the damn thing), etc. thank god my chris bowden copy didn't
    go...

i tried sounds of the universe via e-mail and no luck... any hints! i'll
take cds if i have too...

    All the best,
    Jason
