Sounded enourmous in Copenhagen.Pure dancefloor pleasure ! Only 100 pressed of
this one sided 12 .It precedes the new Da Lata album due in september i think
and more mixes to come on a full 12.

Awesome soulful outing with a bassline to knock out all the competition.Smiles
everywhere when you drop this .
4.Browntempo -Querida Vida/Homage -Rhythm & Culture - USA 12''
Respects to Michael Reinboth who first introduced me to this 12 which i
believe has something to do with Thievery Corporation (??)P Brooks & D
Williams go in for some great latin shuffling for some well produced gems.
5.Choonz Inc & Marvin Gaye Project featuring Bobby Depasois - Music Feel the
Soul -Madhatter - 12''
Presumably booty pressure with the longest group name of the month with some
super duper soul drenched lovelyness which uses the original vocal oh so
well.....
6.Reel People -Second Guess - Papa 2x 12'' uk lp
Simply said this is a complete album from start to finish.Perhaps a contender
for album of the year and won last weeks ''money well spent award''.You really
need this.
7.Fenomenon -Lucy Said -Hi Fi Terapi - Norway 12''
Dunno who lucy is or what she said but this is dreamy stuff with a
characteristic vocal and a landslide mix on da flip.

lovely bit of rhodes.lovely amp fiddler guesting.nuff said.

Not much info to go on with this.Cheers to cp for selling me his personal

The DJ from Gagle comes through with his full player and our lives are herein
enriched.'Right here'featuring Dwele is awesome but theres also tracks

(alma horton) etc.Fine debut and those beats are PHAT.The 6 track 12 features
the lady Alma track plus the jazzy 'm.o.o.d for otis'
and 'jazzorgy'tracks.the 12 sold out in 7 days !!

dont know if the original track ever made it to vinyl as ive had to play it
from cd from the last few months but you should definetly check it
out.,meanwhile some fellas called masters at work (ever heard of them ?)go the
housie ish route to bring it up to date.i still love the original but this is
nevertheless very good.

bembe segue on vocals for jazzy dancefloor persuasion but check the other
side....ha ha indeed.stonking stuff.rockin !

Top piece of plastic as jamaican reggae dancehall meets future broken beat
science on daniel best's label.Apparently Francios Kevorkian loves it.

Lets face it they run a wicked record shop that's been around since i was in
short trousers,James Lavelle used to work there and they do a damn decent
selection of jazz/reggae/hip hop/broken/deep house at some of the cheapest
prices in london.Anyway this is a one sided 10'' with a latin cuban party
throwdown.Instant classic stamp all over it.Apparently this is fronted by the
ex member of the specials & fun boy three but maybe them boys are pulling my
leg !?? Sounds like a stonking Fruitmeat release but er....isnt !

Newie from John with a 4 tracker featuring ayro on the title track.Summer

Taken from the cruising attitude album this first 12 is a 3 tracker with a mix
from soulsauce ultilising the dolcet tones of victor davies on the this is
your life track.

nice artwork on this new 12 from norways finest.im down with the jazzy
pressure drop mix but theres an excellent original mix and even a cuica
electro version.in the box it stays !

taken from the new danceclass single trevor hits cuba's capital with a rump
shakin party pleaser.love it.

3 tracker from daddy truby & da boys.Two remixes from Cuica which is my
favorite but also a subdued much hyped Senor Coconut remix.Summery stuff !
26.Incognito - on the road - danny krivit re edit - Ibadan 12'' - usa
Its a dope mix that's been around since middle of last year and it finally
gets a press on a 12 with same track both sides.Essential stuff and richard
dorfmeister started his set with this record last saturdayin vienna.
27.Mika Nakashima - Love Addiction -Yukihiro Fukutomi remix -Sony Japan 12''
Luckily for us foreigners there are nice jazz based instrumentals on this 12
from the gorgeous Mika Nakashima.Shinchi Osawa (who incidently has just
released his new Mondo Grosso album,'Next Wave' in Japan aswell)produces the
original with Ryota Nozaki (mr jazztronik to you)who has arranged the strings
from chieko kinbara.Fukutomi toughens it up for the dancefloor but retains the
main essence of the track....
28.nigel hayes -movin on -sunshine - austria 12''
consistantly wonderful mr hayes comes through with a summer scorcher that's
juicier than an armful of ripe nectarines.latin & rhodes with added female
vocals with blacksoul & fred everything mixes make this essential.
29.Colorblind -Novo Dia -Plein Gaz - French 12''
Those lovely boys from Lyon in France...DJ Spider and Jun Matsuoka deliver a
tasty 12'' on their own label with a spanish mix from Wagon Cookin.
30.Calm - sketch on banana paper - Rambling - Japan 12''
Calm goes for the dancing juggular vibe and comes with a nice electronic vibe
on a beautiful deep houser.Chari Chari mix on da flipside and both tracks
taken from the banana connection cd album from last year.Should feature on my
next Japanese compilation for american label Kristal Entertainment aswell
later this year.
LP OF THE WEEK IS JOL'S 'Moody aow' out in september on April Records.Lovin

This weeks respects go all those peeps who ventured down to Onward
Interntional last week.Nice turn out full of Nippon lovelyness with
Nidge,Michael,Break Reform crew,DJ Blackbelt & Speedy Servini to show some
supportive love.Friday we trundled off to Brighton to spin for the anniversary
of the Jazz Rooms and it was a stormer right to the very end.Best Friday ive
had down there in ages.Wikked ! Sunday night we were at the Jazz Cafe as Tokyo
Ska Paradise Orchestra from Tokyo were in town for their last date on the
european tour.Japanese kids were going crazy for the 10 members suited and
booted on stage and their last album sold over 200,00 copies ! From there we
went Plastic People to catch Pole with Fat Jon (hold tight for an instrumental
album from jon on a certain uk label)which was great albeit a little loud for
my ears (am i getting old ? )Soma & Fenetik boys in the house & Aphex Twin
too !
