    +BEAT-BOP+
A FREE party every Sunday featuring the best
downbeat, future soul, nu jazz, hiphop and brokenbeat at
The Baltic Room 1207 Pine St. Seattle WA 21+ 9p-close

HERE IS A RECENT REVIEW OF BEATBOP FROM THE STRANGER

"The Baltic Room's Beat-Bop on Sunday night offers an excellent mix of
future jazz, downtempo, soul, real hiphop, and broken beat--in a word, the
sound of modern London. Indeed, when I was there last Sunday with my sister
(who lived in London until recently), she said to me, as DJ Michael Antonia
spun a rare, bouncy broken-beat cut, "When I close my eyes I'm right back in
London." When she opened her eyes she saw the Space Needle, and all of the
phony stars that glitter above the bar and dance floor." - CHARLES MUDEDE

    +COMING THIS SUMMER+
Daz-I-Kue of Bugz in the Attic with the lovely Joy Jones on vocals.

    +Truby Trio - Elevator Music - Compost Records+
I gave this album a quick review a few months back, but now that I've got
the official release, it deserves some more praise. Not only is this
album the sound of summer, its the best album Compost has released to date.
From the boogie funk of 'Univeral Love' to the chilled vibe of Joseph
Malik's 'Bad Luck', the Trio over up something for every mood, every vibe.
My personal faves are the dancefloor-destroying 'New Music'
and the afro-bubble-funk of 'Make A Move'. Truby Trio have pushed
one of the greatest independent record labels to a new plateau with
their debut album. Catch them on tour in Seattle on June 18th at
    The Baltic Room. http://www.compost-records.com
