News :: Sakamoto Ryuichi: Flash movie, A Day in New York

    :: Flash Movie
it's been there for a little while already. there's a very long flash
movie on Sakamoto's front page. i never had a chance to view his
ambitious 'LIFE' concert, but it looks like one of the video clips he
utilized in that concert--the one with Oppenheimer's infamous words
backed by Sakamoto's score. if i recall correctly, this portion appears
on Disc 1 of 'LIFE.' no doubt another statement about today's social
    and political climate.

the praise just keeps coming for Sakamoto Ryuichi and the Morelenbaum's
bossa nova project. their new live studio album has been getting raves
    like their previous two albums.

    from Sakamoto's website:
    Chicago Sun-Times:
It's theoretically impossible to improve on perfection but Morelenbaum
2/Sakamoto does just that, with its second release, "A Day in New York."
It's all as heavenly as a summer breeze and just as seductive.

    Billboard
Even deprived of the Rio air, the music brims with lilting, lyrical
charm on such international standards as "Desafinado" and "Insensatez."
Artists the world over have made these songs ubiquitous, but in the
hands of M2/S, they sound freshly minted. A bonus is a Portuguese
version of Sakamoto's beautiful Jobim homage, "Tango."
