    What about the 'cover bands', the two that come to mind are t.j. kirk
    that did Thelonius monk, James brown, and rassaan roland KIRK, one of
    the tightest bands I ever saw. Another Bay Area band is Oranj
    Symphonette that did an album of all Mancini tunes, very cool.
    Also:
    Charlie Hunter Duo/Trio/Quartet/Quintet etc. did 'Come As You Are'
    the Nirvana tune in a 6/8 groove, and 'Tennessee Waltz', 'Fables of
    Fabus'.
