    I would suggest anything on harmless records, Strut (RIP?) and obviously
    soul-jazz records.
    my favourites would be
    Gimme Shelter, As We Travel, Spread Love, Africafunk, Stand Up and Be
    Counted (vol 1+2), Paint It Black ...

    superb stuff!
    I won't go into all the soul jazz releases, as they are probably more
    widely familiar.
