    SIDEWINDER
    (Fenetik / Soma Records)

Bucking the trend of the populous flocking from the North of the U.K down south, Sidewinder (a.k.a Alan Bryden) is a southerner that moved to Glasgow!! It does actually happen contrary to popular belief. Moving against the flow should come as no surprise to anyone who has picked up any Sidewinder tracks in the past 12 months. Glasgow based Soma Records and its sibling label Fenetik have been the hub of quality musical output for many a year - developing artists of the repute of Ewan Pearson, Pablo, Funk D'Void, H-Foundation and John Tejada to name a but a few from recent years.

Sidewinder should certainly be added that list. Some very useful compilation appearances (including All Back to Mine by Groove Armada and Chillout Session Summer 2003 for Ministry of Sound), and the acclaimed 7-inch single "Ego Riot" laid the way for the long player "Resolution" - released in October 2003 - a culmination of the influences and tracks that shaped his musical tastes and studio habits.

With fans such as Jazzanova, Groove Armada, Mr Scruff, Tom Middleton, Russ Dewbury, Pete Herbert, Naked Music and Guidance Recordings to name drop a few as well as strong press and radio feedback- the Sidewinder sound - a delicious hot pot of smokey jazz, 70's guitar driven funk, mid tempo Anglo-samba and electronica minus the self indulgence - is accessible to all without any compromise on quality.

A classical music background as a cellist on top of involvement in Jock samba project "ORQUESTRA SCOTLAND BRASIL" (sponsored by the British Council - inc touring in South America) plus study at the Glasgow School of Art have provided ample inspiration and contrast to pave the way for his creativity to have depth and freshness.

Live wise, Sidewinder has recently performed at The End, Fabric (both London), The Beat (Edinburgh), T in the Park Festival as well as home venues like the Sub Club and The Arches (Glasgow).

Sidewinder is available under the packages detailed below for the U.K and Europe from 1st October 2003 onwards, with special emphasis on the early part of 2004 and summer festival season.
