I dunno, but an australian hiphop act "the herd" released an awesome track
called 77% which used the bassline from erik b and rakims paid in full
(which was sampled from dennis edwards' soul classic 'don't look any
further')
Anyway, the point is 77% sounds better because they didn't just sample the
original, they played it live and built on a classic
