STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au/index2.html (see below for times)

    Hello all

In my great ignorance, I had not heard of Chris Tubbs until a copy of his
"Good Days Better Nights" album turned up on my doorstep. My first listen
was that happy feeling of surprise you get when you find that something you
don't know turns out to be amazingly good. Closer inspection revealed
collaborations with members of Fat Freddy's Drop and the Nextment, both
former guests of Stylin. Chris is a Wellington boy, now relocated to London,
and his album is out on both NZ's Loop and the UK's Carbon labels. His
downtempo mix for last week's show is a perfect reflection of the soulful
and warm style he brings to his productions. I didn't have a tracklisting,
but have managed to work most of it out since his taste seems to be such a
    good match to my own!

This week I'll have a mix from Germany's Mo Horizons, who will be in town
with Karsten John this Sunday night.

    until then
