    Hola,

On tap for this evening is much frivolity and merry-making, along
with the grooviest of tunes. Be forewarned - you'll be hearing tracks
    from:

As One - Kirk DiGorgio's new album, Out Of The Darkness continues
his forays into jazz and broken beat, but adds more hip-hop to the
mix this time around.....Massive Attack provide the soundtrack to the
movie Danny The Dog and judging by the dark & moody music, this is no
"Benji." Speaking of dark & moody, Strange Attractor's debut disc,
Rorschach is no slouch in that department. A collaboration between
Niels Van Hoorn from the Legendary Pink Dots and Richard Van
Kruysdijk (Sonar Lodge) pit synths, saxes and beats against vocals
from Edward Ka-Spell and Marie-Claudine Vanvlemen, resulting in
sounds that should appeal to fans of the Cure and Interpol.

Tru Thoughts have compiled the recent Flevans EPs into a long-player
entitled Make New Friends and the songs are so catchy, you'll want to
run out and shake a stranger's hand almost immediately. There's
plenty of new jazz bizness from Phil Ranelin, Marco Di Marco, Yohimbe
Brothers and Alice Coltrane, as well as classic reissues from Bobby
Hutcherson, Sam Rivers and Horace Silver.

On the ticket front, we'll be handing out seats to this week's shows
from Brad Mehldau, Rokia Traore and Stacey Kent, all part of the
SFJazz fall season. Also, tix for the Realistic Orchestra and DJ Tom
Thump appearing at the Elbo Room this weekend.

Please join me for the festivities...

Until next week, ciao for now!
    David
