STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne (GMT +11)
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au (see below for global times)
    Archived online thanks to http://www.quantumlounge.net

    Hello all

No guests this week, just a chance for me to stretch out across a broad
Stylin spectrum of hip hop, soul, jazz, house, broken, techno and latin. Some particular treats to check: an unreleased broken epic from Melbourne's Lanu, John Legend doing a sung version of Slum Village's 'Selfish', more acoustic soul from Raul Midon and a lost nugget from Alison Crockett which never had a proper release due to sample clearance problems.

And in an eerie moment of synchronicity, I ended the show with Keyshia Cole's 'Never', which reworks Luther Vandross' 1981 boogie classic 'Never Too Much', only to find out later that Luther died that day. Farewell to a legend.

Next time on Stylin: London's masters of the hard latin club groove, Spiritual South with a guest mix.

    until then
