Alvin's on thursday night is slammin. In heart of Wayne State University
Campus, it draws heavily off of the College crowd, but is making so much
noise that it is beginning to spill into the city. Lots of Raregroove/
Acid Jazz Stuff here. Ubiquity Records would be proud.
Performing in Thrursday nights is
JazzHead, the most flavorful local Acid/Funk Jazz Band.
Electrified as
hell, but can't touch Ying-Yang in Atlanta. Then again, not too many
places can touch Ying-Yang. Only 18th Street Lounge in D.C. Comes
Close. Red Dog in Chicago is in the running as a tie.
