He was the DJ in a group called Downtown Science a few years back (91/92).
They only released one full-length and, as far as I can remember, had only
one hit - can't recall the name. He also released a domestic sample-happy
track in 1993(?) called "Back in the Day" which sampled ATCQ, Spoonie Gee,
and the Fearless Four b/w a track which heavily sampled Bob James' "Mardi
Gras". Apparently, he did a lot of engineering and programming for Def Jam
and Profile in the late 80s and early 90s, so if you look closely you'll see
his name popping up quite a bit.
