On the other hand, Becker and Fagen at one point did admit ripping off the
acoustic bass-piano figure used in the intro ... but more as a tribute to
Silver than any nefarious intent.

Silver's 'Song for my Father' resurfaced again via US3's 'hand on the torch'
album ... on "Eleven Long Years". This time, they sampled the original.

Someone somewhere who heard it must've thought, "Hey, they ripped off Rikki
Don't Lose that Number!" :)
