Listening to Dego spin last night came close to eclipsing everything that
i've been to in a while. Maybe something deep down is getting tired of
rootsy congas and latin jazz funk, and this 45-60minute glimpse into the
future filled a gap i hadn't realized was there. Totally blew my fucking
mind. Last time i felt like this was when i saw Ninja Tune live for the
first time. It was also nice to see the Wednesday night Philly crowd getting
down to the complex drum patterns (which was a bit unexpected). Highlights
include that Mustang track "Give a Little Love" (a classic already in my
mind), Bugz in the Attic "Waiting"(?), and later, that Phoojan (Phil Asher)
track on New Season Part 2 which sent people into a short lived frenzy (it
was 2:00). Everything else was hot off the press type shit i imagine (yea i
guess describing it is futile, huh :)).

In defense of Britt i think his style is in a complete other ballpark than
Josh's (who's music i will gladly skip trying to describe. Well maybe really
quick... Blech!). Britt played some really sublime stuff albeit 4 to the
floor and i was digging most of it.

PS. anyone have opinions on that Joakim Lone Octet "Tiger Sushi" full LP?
Got the rmxs but was wondering what the original stuff sounds like. Who are
these guys and what's the skinny on em?
