Hey folks, this is a little off-topic, but I was hoping I could get a little
help from the globetrotters on the group. I'm planning a two week trip to
Spain and Portugal,
I was in Portugal and Spain back in 77. Portugal ROCKED!!!!! Damn!!!!
There was this beach north of Lisbon called Navarre and another beach called
Sebutal south of Lisbon that were awesome!!!! I stayed at the Hotel Roma in
downtown Lisbon and we had this Santana cover band there that loved having
me a 14 year old hollerin' out for Santana songs!!! Oh my God was I bless,
Yes Sir Indeed!!! Lisa from Bellamy, Alabama your fire still bright
inside!!! I am sure the Club scene will be great in Portugal.
Spain, well I would have liked it much better if my Hotel room wasn't broken
in to and all my money was taken. You live an learn. Madrid is Madrid but
I would suggest going to a place north of Madrid called Segovia, Man!!!!
talk about a great place to take that special girl!!! Segovia has that
ambience of old Europe and the Roman Aquaduct is stunning. I wish I had one
of my Motorcycles at the time because leaving Madrid for Segovia gives you
some great twistie roads to slice and dice and it also gives you some great
scenery.
and was wondering if you can point out some groovy places where I can catch
some live music in the above-mentioned cities.
I highly recommend Lisbon, Navarre and Sebutal in Portugal. In Spain I
would recommend Segovia. I use to spend a lot of time at Rota on the coast
in Spain and I liked the downtown area but could not stand being on a Navy
Base. I would wager that Barcelona would have a lot to offer. One thing
that impressed me about Spain was they seem to be highly motivated about
Gran Prix Motorcycle Racing!!!
I also have questions concerning lodging and travel, so any help would be
appreciated.
Brother Stimp just be very aware of your surroundings especially in Madrid.
