That must have been the cheesy show where everyone wore Nehru jackets, all
the cars had gull-wing doors, and there was this blonde character by the
name of Commander Ed Straker whose haircut would be considered quite "acid
jazz" today. The setting was 1980 I believe... and all the special effects
were toys that reminded me of that puppet show "Thunderbirds Are Go." God,
the things you remember with the proper stimulus.

I remember it vaguely... best I can recall is that the proper adjective
would be ... "groovy".
