THE DAWN CLUB - Subtone, Cheltenham, Saturday 10 April, 5pm, 01242 227979
Alto sax, tabla, acoustic bass, keyboards, sampler and drums combine to
create pulsating rhythms and innovative compositions. A live set is fused
with visuals and DJs and dedicated to exploring the possibilities of jazz
and contemporary sounds.

CHICK COREA and ORIGIN, Town Hall, Cheltenham, Saturday 10 April, 7pm, 01242
227979
Chick Corea appears with his new acoustic outfit Origin consisting of reed
players Bob Sheppard and Steve Wilson, trombonist Steve Davis and a supurb
rhythm section of Avishai Cohen on bass and Adam Cruz on drums.

Chick Corea's three decade career through the pages of jazz history has been
highly prolific and diverse. Following a year accompanying Sarah Vaughan, he
rose to true prominence in the jazz world by joining Miles Davis' band,
performing on such ground breaking albums as Bitches Brew and In a Silent
Way. On leaving Miles Davis' band he formed first Circle then Return to
Foreer and almost a decade after the breakup of RTF, and coinciding with a
new association with GRP Records in 1986, Elektric Band.

Thanks to Chick's unique compositions and the remarkably high level of
musicianship in the group, the Elektric Band went on to become one of the
most important fusion groups of the decade.
