Just picked up a few new records today and am thoroughly satisfied with them
all. I'm back from a short hiatus of no computer and no internet at the
    crib.

    1. At Jazz - LabFunk (Mantis) - yeah, the buzz has been right on with this
one. No doubt one of the best albums this year. Lush keyboard work, way
too funky bass lines and broken house beats (i dont know that this is still
house). Definitely one i'll enjoy for a long time to come

    2. Theo Parrish - Segments From the Fifth Wheel (Moods N Grooves) - I'm
really loving the track on here called "Chunky"... supa doopa fat and
chunky (is the perfect word) off key chords and beats keep you guessing...
very centering/relaxing song here. The flip side has a darker sound to it
with a song appropriately called "Second Darkness".

    3. Tortured Soul - Might Do Something Wrong (Central Park) - I've heard
this a few times in clubs and decided to pick it up... I was pleasantly
suprised to hear this dope version called the "Lonely Mix" done by Yoruba.
Very smooth sounds and just what i needed this Saturday afternoon.

    4. Son of Scientist - Theory of Everything / Ion Steel (Main Squeeze) - I
think this 12 inch is pretty defining of the IG sound, but i assume the next
release will sound completely different..?.. "Ion Steel" is bright but deep
with hardhitting drums and bass with some bad ass synth sounds remind me of
something 4 hero might do. "Theory of Everything" is more techno but ah...
broken techno piece that sounds incredible at high volumes (glad neighbors
    haven't complained...yet).

Also, I got the chance to see Saul Williams perform last night (thanks to
the note Derek dropped on this list)... it was very refreshing and
challenging for me to hear where Saul is at and i left with (conflicting)
thoughts half feeling "what is left after this?" and the other half "i've
got so much to do"... when he comes to your town be sure to see him. He
passed on lots of insight and brought my understanding thus far to its
limits. Afterwords my mind felt a bit burnt like coming down, but very much
uplifted and those who stayed chilled out to everything from brazilian
beats, to 4 hero, to a few hip hop instrumentsals and 70's fusion.

realxing on a saturday afternoon with some fresh tunes and a chemistry
    book... back to school!

    PEACE.
    Beau
