    Heathrow Airport. Terminal One arrivals.
Catch the Piccadilly line back into the city.
30 mins stuck at Boston Manor!
    Signal failure at Hyde Park!
Welcome back to London town Cukipapa!

Vienna on the other hand! Well, we luv ya boots!
11 days and nights chillin' dem boots with some
mighty fine peeps! Trains, trams and buses that
work & not a Starbucks in sight! Cafe's & coffee
houses on every corner, each with their own
personality and character. A city with identity and
charm. Oh how lucky you are!
I have to say a big thanks to the following crews
& peeps who made this trip special.
Ziggy & the Soulsugar crew at Porgy & Bess.
One of the best retro soul nights in Europe. A
great venue and a knowledgeable crowd.
Always a big thrill to play with Tom Weiland (Les
Gammas/Compost) One of the very best DJ's on
the scene. A great guy too. We luv ya boots Tom!
    Andy from Aromabar/INFRACom. Another fine
and knowledgeable DJ on the circuit.
All the crew at Klein records. Enough good music
coming from this label. Good coffee and company
in their office too. Keep in touch guys.
Claus, Alex and the crew at Black Market records.
Ta to the guy who went out of his way to get some
nuggets for me on my last day.
To my good friend Gerald aka 'Scheibosan'. One
of my favourite DJ's and a fabulous fella. We luv ya
boots too Gerald. Check his musical wisdom on a
superb compilation for Ecco Chamber called 'Black
Coffee' Vol 3. Check for the exclusive Stereotyp track.
Thanks to Gerald too for introducing me to the Stephan
Moerth aka Stereotyp. When this album drops for G
Stone in the forthcoming months, we're gonna get a
new level guys. Listening to the album in Stephan's
studio blew my mind. Do check out the first instalment
of the album in Stereotyp meets Tikiman 'Jahman' out
now on a G Stone twelve. Rough!
To Kitty and Fred. Wow, Cuki impressed by the new
fella Kitty. Thanks for all your love these past days.
London sends its love to you both.
To my wonderful friend Amanda Sage who's show at
the Otto Wagner Villa last Monday made me extremely
proud. I'm even prouder to be your friend because of
    who you are Amanda.
To Flow and Valentin, Twentysomething tunes and now
looking after things musically at the WUK.
One other person I gotta mention. One very extraordinary
human being I finally got to meet. Miss Romy Kaiser aka
the 'Stamp Licker' 'Sicknote' and the original 'Boots'! I
couldn't even begin to tell you how much I love your boots
Romy. Thank you for DJ-ing with me at Amanda's show
and a bigger thanks for that smile and those eyes. Thank
you for every where you took me and everything you did
for me during my stay. You my number one 'Boots'.

Away next week too so mail me at cukipapa@jazzandjava.com
If you need to be in contact.

Saturday nights @ Charterhouse Bar have now changed. In
comes the 2am licence and also the start of MK Ultras new
weekly residency (every third Saturday stays as CACHACA ).
Look out for the crew members playing alongside my big bro!
'Tings a Gwarn in a Vienna Stylee for sure bro'! Where did you
learn to talk like that Nigel. Charterhouse bar as you know in
Charterhouse Street. Err! Brownski missing his big brother!
And how come all those Swedish chicks have black hair?

Swedish chicks with dark hair! Our favourite Swedish chick
with dark hair and favourite Notting Hillbilly Arty Club staff
member of all time. Happy 21st Birthday to my dear friend
    Teresa in Stockholm.

Much mail and postage to get through. Hold tight for those
reactions and returns. Again, thirty records doesn't cover
what I'm playing or listening to but here goes.

    #### #### This weeks chart (* New Entry) #### ####

    1. New Sector Movements - The Sun (All mixes)(Virgin) 3x12"
It's official! It's all over Jazzanova! Originator of the broken
beat gets the remix treatment from himself, Dwele and Kenny
Dope. Three Slabs of vinyl, three steps to heaven. Some
crew gonna have to come with some tune to topple this
package. First official single form the forthcoming album.

    2*. Dapp - First Off (Dub Version)(Omoa) CD-R
Ta to the Recloose for putting this my way. Taken from a
excellent sampler doing the rounds with hot new Detroit bizniz!
Hold tight for the sound of Matt's new project along with quality
music from Marc Alphonse and Ayro. Check the website on
    www.omoamusic.com for the lowdown.

    3*. Spacek - Curvatia (Island Blue) 2xLP
First parcel opened on my arrival back on Blighty! If you
into the sound of twisted Hip Hop then this is essential.
Ever since we heard the edgy 'Eve' we knew this crew
would come through with a worthy long player. In the shops
    too!

4*. The Lost Scrolls of Hamaric - Royal Jelly (Best Seven) 7"
Think I may be a little late on charting this, though has been
in the CD-R case for some time now. Stephan Moerth the
man behind Stereotyp coming with another groovy dubster
for Daniel Best's 'Seven' label. Buy new bass bins now for
    the forthcoming Stereotyp album.

5*. Mr Hermano - Free as the Sun (Disorient) 12"
Gonna be in the box for months this beauty! Ben Mitchell
and Chris Fleming roll on the summer with Nik Weston's
hottest Latin Gospel tip! Santana classic with new school
    respect. Essential purchase.

    6*. Espen Horne - Nhu begin'n (Hospital) 12"
What a steal! Those nice peeps at the red door have
decided to include a exclusive track to their 'Out
Patients' sampler. As far as I'm aware, not to be
included on the new album so grab this when and
where you can. Anybody who caught the show in
London will know about this track.

7*. Orange Water - Lo Tek (Archive) 10"
Aka Orin Walters! Nice alias bro! Another
slice of West London broken beat boogie! Volcov's
'Archive' label delivering the message in a Detroit
stylee! Catch Orin at Plastic People (Blueprint Sessions)
and Bar Rhumba (This) in the forthcoming weeks.

    8.Herbert - Bodily Functions (K7) 3xLP
Matty boy lets rip with the next instalment of quirky style
lefties. Dani also adding the incredibly sexy lyric touch!
Anybody wanna argue that she ain't got the best 'come to
bed' voice on the planet! Well, It's another great album,
a great sound and we be looking forwards to playing this
    stuff out!

9*. Micatone - Nine songs (No Zession) 2xLP
Got to get the CD as there are only eight songs on the vinyl!
Great album though through the Sonar Kollektiv crew.
Maybe best to describe this as a softer soulful version of
Fauna Flash. Hope I haven't offended anyone!

    10*. Bazille Noir - Mister M (Klein) 12"
Part 4 of the 'Sincerely Yours' series. Ta the crew on
Gumpendorfer Street for thrusting this sweet swinging
soundtrack groove in my hands last week. Think Mancini,
Morricone, Quincy, Lalo hanging out in the Flex club!

    11. AtJazz - Lab Funk (Mantis) 2xLP
No need to introduce this lot! Through out the universe,
known for their polished production and remix skills.
This an excellent album from an excellent outfit
including the classic 'Touch the Sun' and 'Harmony'.

    12. Bugge Wesseltoft - Moving (Jazzland) 2xLP
Another new concept of Jazz from Bugge and his keyboards
from Norway! This time getting deeper into the spirit.
Couldn't help but think of the Herbert album while listening
to this. Quality cosmic keyboards with a worth while groove.

    13. Kosma - Odessa (Flows mix)(INFRACom) 12"
We going for the flip side with a 60's psycho folksy, jazzy
beat, chilled out strings jobbie! Dedicated to Kosma's
flatmate and defiantly in a Zero 7 style! Ouch!

    14. Kahuun - Batteri (HiFi Terdpi) 12"
Vikings moving in! Eivind Olsvik and the Moussejuus
massive coming with a new label! And what a way to start.
We be thinking Norway's answer to Moodymann with plenty
of bottom end and superb keyboards touching the tops.
Another Norwegian invasion of our shores! This time you
    can have our women!

    15. V/A - Folky (Spectrum Works) 1xLP
Acoustic music in digital times! Awesome collection
of new bizniz from suspects such as Scuba, Zero 7,
Les Gammas, Victor Davis. We also digging such
artists as Otto Lamani and Lief too. Pull up a comfy
chair and leave your dancing shoes in the corner!
    Now in the shops too.

    16. V/A - Out Patients Vol 2 (Hospital) CD-R
Hospital records come with mo goodies in the new instalment
of Out Patients. All new and exclusive and featuring the cream
of today's top production teams. Jazztronik, Swell Session, Les
Gammas, Landslide etc. Even the 'Future Homosapiens'
(remember them) make a long over due visit to our ears!
11 tracks and all pushing the right buttons!

17*. BTO Spider - Destined to stay restless (Spinning Wheel) 12"
Mo quality out Pfarrkirchen. One of my favourite underground
labels hitting the spot again with this soulful percussive roller
with that authentic German feel. Respect to the crew and nice
to catch up with you all in Vienna.

    18. Aardvarck - Spoken (Nubian Mindz mixes)(Rush Hour) 12"
Been shouting about this crew from Holland for some
time now and 'Oh my god' Colin Lindo aka 'Nubian
Mindz' from the Archive, Reinforced camps comes with
two blinding remixes. One Detroit house creamer and one
absolute no buts 'broken beater' belter. Look out for the
finished copy which will come with Domu bizniz!

    19. Stereotyp meets Tikiman - Jahman (G-Stone) 12"
This kid bordering on genius! Those of you who got off on
the remix for Juryman's 'Ethiopian' track need to get ready
for this. A dark Viennese dubster for sure! We got to meet
the man and were awaiting a timebomb of a album.

    20*. Square One - Mugshot (Hajime Yoshizawa mix)(Freerange) 12"
Jamie got the boys on the remix tip! This time Hajime
Yoshizawa on duty for this forthcoming twelve. Hajime
as you now the ivory tickler for the Kyoto Jazz Massive
and recording artist for the Especial label.

    21. V/A - Le Nouveau du Jazz (Irma) 2xLP
We checking this for two tasty exclusives from two tasty
producers! Dem being the 'Recloose' and the 'Domu'
As always, Matt and Dominic taking it to the edge of the
envelope. Pushing even more boundaries and taking
21st music by the scruff of its neck! Album also
containing remix pressure past from Ian O'Brien and the
Volcov for Soul Drummers and Space Clique.

    22*. Natures Plan - Smile (Solaria) 12"
Number 5 on the excellent Solaria imprint, respect to SS.
This time Mark Mac (4 Hero) teams up with Azymuth hero's
Jose Bertrami & Ivan Conti for another contender for summer
song! There's even a broken beat mix on the flip for the headz

    23. Block 16 - Find an Oasis (Nuphonic) CD-R
Suckaz for the strings, hold on to your arm chairs!
This gonna Bunson burn ya! Jhelisa returns with
the voice over but the orchestration and the bossa
groove killing us ever so slowly. Fug quiet things
down with a solid remix too.

    24. V/A - Compost 100 (Compost) 4xLP
4 plates of bonkeroney Bavarian beats! I'm in heaven!
To celebrate the 100th release of this outstanding label
Compost come through with a compilation of all our fav
acts past and present. Some quality music on this album
and I personally can't wait for the next one hundred
releases from Haager Street. Hats off and respect to all
    the crews.

    25. Kyoto Jazz Massive - Eclipse (Afronaught remixes)(Compost) 12"
Forthcoming twelve from Munich via the land of the
rising sun. A little detour on the way to North Acton
were O-Dawg or Orange Water as he is now known, hot
of the heels of 'Transcend Me' gets to grips with a
Okino Bros classic. We digging the new track too.

    26. Nicole Conte - Forma 2000 (Les Gammas remix)(?) CD-R
Dem boys on a roll! Les Gammas come with the lick
on this tasty jazz come soundtrack monster. Right now,
Les Gammas the most prolific and productive of the
European crews and top tip from da Cuki, do not pass
any mix or any release from them.

    27. Robert Nacken - Majomin (Spectrum Works) 12"
Mo peeps need to get on this! This is where music begins
and ends for me! Songs, melodies, spirituality and so
much more. Epic acoustic music from the label that isn't
afraid to differ. This the guy too that wrote Karma's 'High
    Priestess'.

    28. Intuit - A New Beginning (Compost) 12"
Oh how we like those space trips! Nuff Compost Bitz
about to hit the streets and all bases covered too.
This a beautiful cosmic journey with a Julie Dexter
sound alike melting my earlobes. If you enjoyed the
Eska and Uschi Classen track for Earth Project then
you be travelling with this one too. Hold tight!

    29. The Underwolves - Under your Sky (Compost/JCR) 2xLP
This time Compost won't let the boys down like the other lot
did! It may be over two years old but the fact that its release
is immanent is a testimony to the fact that good things happen
to those who wait. We have to thank Compost too for getting
on the case of this long lost beauty. A truly exceptional album
that to many needs no introduction. Timeless.

    30. Shur-i-ken - Advance (Freerange) 2xLP & 2x12"
Wow! What a debut album for Mr Odell's Freerange label.
Look out to for Landslide and Swell Session remixes
forthcoming too. Shur-i-ken aka Tim Szirtes coming
through with mo twists and turns than a super market
trolley with a wonky wheel. You even need to check the
CD for an amazing track called 'Awakening's'.

    #### #### Coffee Compliment #### ####

    Billy Gault 'When Destiny Calls'
    Inner City 2027 (1976)
I've had lots of people enquiring about this album
so I had to dig it out. I have two copies, one on
'Steeplechase' and one on 'Inner City'. Think they had
some sort of agreement as quite a few albums appeared
    on the same two labels.
This a nice deep spiritual affair with Gault on piano and
Michael Carvin on drums. Fragile vocalist Ellen Deleston
adding even more spirituality to the set. Choice choons in
'The time of this world is at hand' and 'Mode for Trane',
Title track also sounding good at 'Granny' last Thursday.
    Seek.
